Is that Liebherr's new 60 tonner, mounted on a Kenworth? Is that a northamerican photo, or is it from overseas?
And what about that 50 ton Manitex? you didn't say whether or not I put it in the wrong catagory.
Didn't Liebherr come out with a new 60 tonner last spring that can be mounted on a normal truck?
Not according to the website ..
Fundametal question ..you didnt ask ..
why is this not a boom truck ?
Sorry Impact ....We wrecked your thread ...
Maybe the mods will clean it out for ya ...If you ask them ...
its not a boom truck, its a truck mount crane. I've always considered a boom truck to have load carrying capabilities, they were designed to go somewhere, pick up a load, drive it to a site, then unload it for a real crane to set it.
that 50 ton manitex is a crane, it has no load carrying capabilities.
Wreck my thread? This is the best thread on the site!:usa
I've got a 25 ton boom truck with a 92' boom, and a 46 jib. We lift a man basket with it at times. Whenever you're winched up to the top, and you look down the boom and it's crooked as a dog's hind leg...The basket is 2-3' off center of the boom...I'll admit it, I start to hole on tighter, and find myself wanting to kneel down in the basket.
The old 35 ton Grove though..Makes me feel much safer.
Boom truck ..She can tow a tag ..with
Via 45T Newholland pintle hitch ..
crane cant ...dolly with a stone ..thats it ..
you sound like the MTO, if its got a hitch, its not a crane
our 22 tonner didn't have a hitch, they classified as a crane
No carry deck, no trailer hitch, no plate, no safety check, no emmisions, no speed limiter = Crane
BTW sorry if this is coming off as offensive, the intent is simply for debate.
