HD gravel truck that I drove for a friend from Campbell River, was an old Ed Garso (wrong spelling) truck, he had a lot of them back in the day, Hayes and Kenworth. all had 250 cummins and 5 & 4 trans and 44 rears.

Antique Truck Show - Duncan

I had the pleasure of stopping by this annual event this morning. The highlight for me was hearing the old Saunders K-37 Hayes from the nearby Forestry Museum fire up and drive up the hill into the exhibition compound. It has been many years since that wonderful sound passed through my ears - unlike many of you I do not work in the woods anymore. Here are some pics from today. I will post pics in other threads to show the variety of what was there.

I sure hope it wasn't you who bent that bumper up Cam:)
Was not I, that's how it looked when we got it, did a bunch of repairs then went back to work. When we got it I drove it down from Port McNeil and when we pulled the front hubs off the bearings were so blue and rough I bet one more mile I'd been in the weeds..lol

Drifter can you post a pic or two of her???? There is guys on here looking all the time Thank You

Sorry HDX I didn't have a chance to get a pic of it. It's a blue HD with two round lights in the fenders. It's just south of OK Falls on Highway 97 east side of the highway with a blue water tank.

SPMiller would you happen to know the history of the HDX in post 1232 ? When I worked at Eve River division we rebuilt H37 with a Pacific cab and made a new radiator guard just like the one in the picture. I believe we put extra handles on the hood as well. The fellow who was driving it at the time had only one good arm so we put extra handles on it. The truck also had 121 axles in it as well.

HD Mech,

You found her. That truck is Mr. David Perry's old number 37.

It looks like it has been looked after really well. I really enjoyed helping rebuild it back in the day. I still think it looked better RED and WHITE!

Everything looks better in RED and WHITE.

We have a great picture of 37 at our office. First trip to woods after rebuild. Have another picture of Larry Hickford standing in front of H-22 after her rebuild as well.

Many old M+B shots. Just have never had time to post them.
