Don't come out here to Miles City on Moon Creek road, you might take a turn off the wrong road and explore a little bit and see a little bit swinging in the wind in the warm days also the wife approves and joining in on it  We are just quarantining freely is all ;) Ever put a fence a barbed wire fence up naked, better pick the barbless wire for this occasion. And they wondered why I wanted to buy the property close to me to keep people out :D I know the days and times my neighbors come and go, also can hear and identify them by the noise their vehicles make. For the uncertain day of the week keep pair of shorts in reach next to the rifle if not near the camper
My new friend, relocated it under my camper rig to help with field mice and moles ;)

Just don't forget, or you might find yourself in trouble with the moderators.

Oh, and no, I never have put up a barb wire fence naked, and can't imagine a scenario where I ever would....
That would be like frying up some bacon or sausage while being neked. Bad idea. Real bad idea.
Don't ask me how I know

Spud Monkey would you be in Mt? My dad was living in East Helena when he passed. There used to be a nice tavern there where you get off the highway by the limestone pits.

Yep I'm in Montana though on the other side of the state from Helena. Was going to make Alaska this year for exploring, but the world fell apart and got a hang over from the beer virus. Lack of sunlight would be reason for me to not live in Alaska, had enough of that in Washington state with the rain.

Finally getting a handle on all the maintenance and repairs on everything with this downtime. Used a easy out for the first time, impressed with how well they worked. Some dumba$$ tightened transfer case fill plug stupid tight and I stripped it trying to get it out, impact wouldn't budge it and eventually the threads just gave out. Even with the easy out, I couldn't budge it with a 24" breaker bar and my impact struggled a bit that's good for well over 200 ft/lbs. Amazingly transfer case is fine. I have no idea peoples mindset, it's a plug, it just needs a bit over finger tight and it's never going to go anywhere, why the hell would you run it on with a impact? The drain plug was the one put on reasonable. Thankfully done all the maintenance on new truck now and that was the only issue.

Some people don't understand the reason for torque specs.....I didn't, until I came damn close to ruining the case on my atv by overtorqueing the oil drain plug. Lesson learned and remembered!

Couldn't have said it better myself. All the final drive plugs were stripped on my 580. Had to replace at $20+ each. Oil pan plug needed a 24" breaker and pipe to remove.

Try taking the final drive covers off the Spicer axles in telehandlers. The 10 wheel nuts hold it all together but there are 2 tapered head countersunk bolts that hold the covers on when the wheels are off. They lock so hard in the taper most times you're stuck drilling the heads off. After that just spin the bolt shank out of the housing by hand.

What in the hell is going on in Seattle? They may have a handle on the corona virus but it seems like there is an entirely new, more destructive, more contagious virus taking hold. And I thought California was bad.

Had a similar problem with countersunk Allen headed bolts on a final drive of a loader. What I found to work was applying lots of heat to the head right in the center and then let cool and they came right out. Think the heat let the taper relax just enough to let them screw out easy.

Worst part about these ones is the hex is very shallow. About half of a regular allen head. Much easier to strip.

Those aren't Seattlites, those are Californians. There isn't anymore Seattlites left, they left a generation ago and the new ones born are from Californian parents that moved in 20 something years ago. They may claim to been born in Seattle back in early 2000 or late 90's but their California ways are inbred in the DNA from their parents.

Just remembered I have the same problem with the 1/4 inch flat head Allen bolts on the small covers where I adjust clutch and primary chain. Put them in only slightly more that finger tight and more than once have has to dill the head off to get them out. Once head pops off you can remove the threaded piece with fingers. And those screws go into holes open to the oil inside the chain case!
