This here is Y-9040 has been repainted and some modifications have bean made, since I only recently found out the S/N I use to think this was Y-9069 and that it was sold to Bighorn so it only shows how important S/N are.

Johno, you are correct with the TY 90 #no range, ie Y9035 through to Y9069 but there was no Y9070 or Y9071. Not quite sure why you are missing two - have you factored in that the two T/Bird SP's effectively had two serial no's each - one for the carrier and one for the hoist - (Y9051 hoist Y9055 carrier) (Y9050 hoist Y9068 carrier) Re Y9069, I have Mac BLo in one set of records as the first customer and Weyco in the other. Y9040 looks OK.

Y-9069 was bought new by MacMillan Blodel and sold to DeBriae in 1999,and yes I counted in both the hoist and the carrier for the 2 TTY-90.

This yarder in these pictures is Y-9069 and was the last TY-90 ever built (sold new to MB, then DeBriae and recently sold to Bighorn).
Y-9040 was sold to Ober new (on a Berger SP) then pulled off the Berger, set on a Skagit T-100SP and sold to Nygaard who still owns it.

I posted pics of Y-9040 on several occasions and this is not it.

Here are 2 pictures of TY-90 Y-9040 when Ober was selling off in 1989. Wasn't long after the hoist was pulled off the Berger.

R J.

That list you have was always being updated by parts guys as an owner would call in with a serial number for parts purchase.
Weyerhaeuser took over MacBlo later and a parts man changed the owner/name from MB to Weyco on the list at some point R.J.

The machine was still at Sayward, but MacBlo became Weyerhaeuser so they changed the name on the sheet.
When DeBriae bought that machine it was still red, white, and black MB colors.

Here are some pics I took when DeBriae bought her-

photo (10).jpgView attachment 96401Not sure but has issues . Was being leased by some fools who where trying to log what should have been a good block. Owner repossed his gear after not getting paid. Fools never came back . Left a horrendous mess ,hundreds of tonnes of unpulled wood , rubbish & rope everywhere . Left a loader buried to its counterweight on the landing . Fools got some more iron from somewhere and moved to another job . We have been hired to clean up the mess & finish the block." Leave the S_ _ t we will do it " has been our saying for years.

I think that that is Wilapa's TY-90 they bent the tube on their rig so low that when they cut it of,it wouldn't eaven reach the cradle when towerd down.

TY90 in Dexter

The TY90 belongs to Dave Penegor as well as the Skagit setting with it. There is also a couple of strokers there that are his and two Thunderbird shovels.

That's S/N Y-9037, delivered new to International Paper at Gardiner, Oregon in September, 1984.

That poor girl has been sitting there broken for a long, long time now- 10 years or so..?

The tags were pulled when IP shut down; I've got pics of them someplace.

They are safe and warm.

A link to the RB Auction brochure for that sale- https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=b65e...#cid=B65E7D5E9159A16C&id=B65E7D5E9159A16C!172

Here's the machine on the RB Auction cover-

This is Lew Prince's 355 on site roughly a week ago. I dont know the history behind this machine, however, it has had the drum reversing shaft pulled out of it and the wet brakes added a la the 255 set up. It has also been repowered with a late model Cat.

Nice machine.

Enjoy

Furpo, according to my notes here that machine was sold new to Canevari Logging at Fortuna, California in May of 1989. It would have been the 3rd TSY-355 built and I don't know anything about it- it's history or ownership succession. It looks like it's in good cosmetic condition and has survived life well so far. I wonder where and when the mechanical/brake changes took place?
