    excavator/drainage tile/spoon/bullseye6/lr60

I've been fixing drainage tile in my fields with a cat 307 and the tile manufacturer has been recommending using a spoon on the bucket to have solid sidewalls in the trench. Can a bullseye3/lr60 system be helpful when using a bucket spoon? If it works like advertised it would make it easier to...

ingersoll rand vr 638 won't move

Thanks. My problem is I'm used to Cat, Deere and CNH service. If you can't figure it out in a couple hours you call the dealer and they can bring the parts and fix it. With a vr 638 service isn't the same.

ingersoll rand vr 638 won't move

I backed up the telehandler last week and put it in forward and it won't move. It starts and the bucket and steering work but won't go forward or back. The parking light is on but I have the parking brake down as far as it will go. Where should I look? thanks

    cat 304 c cr

I should be a little more clearer what we consider "tile". Most of the drainage used to be one foot long clay tile that has served well for generations. About fifty years ago we started replacing the ancient tile with plastic perforated pipe that comes in rolls. We still refer to as tile but...

    cat 304 c cr

Thanks for the reply. I looked at a 330 cat today that had a 44 inch bucket that had a half moon fabricated to install 21 inch tile. Princsco has a good explanation on how to build your own unit. I thought someone might already be building these but it looks like you have to fabricate your...

    cat 304 c cr

Normally I fix clay drainage tile in fields with the cat but not much else. I dig out the old and put new in the same trench. However, I'd like to be able to run tile next to the old tile since the clay I'm replacing was put in by hand and sometimes the old fellows tried to run it uphill...

    304c cr hydraulic hose bucket

THANKS. I've unhooked the hose end at the boom that attaches to the steel line, but I can't figure out where the line ends up after it goes under the machine. I'm sending the pictures to the dealer tomorrow so hopefully they can identify it. The hose unhooked is the third one from the right...

    304c cr hydraulic hose bucket

There are no aluminum tags on these hoses but tomorrow I'll be able to take a picture and send it to the dealer. I took the hose off at the boom end but it doesn't seem to want to come out the back. If I can identify the hose I'll probably have one made and have the service guy install it...

    304c cr hydraulic hose bucket

I've blown a hose from the bucket to the cab on a cat 304c cr. The hose goes under the cab and I think ends up at the valve stack at the back. I took it off at the steel line on top of the boom but it doesn't want to budge when I attempt to pull it through to the back. Is it fastened under...

ingersoll rand vr 638 house demolition

Most excavators say the cheapest way to do it is to knock it down, burn it and call them to bury what's left. They're not real fond of having their equipment wait a couple days for the fire to go out. The wind has to be out of the right direction to burn this pile. Power lines could be a...

ingersoll rand vr 638 house demolition

Thanks Powerjoke! I had no idea I was breaking any law. The majority of houses and buildings are burned and buried in the same hole in this neighborhood. I'll have to ask around and find out more about this. Thanks again!

ingersoll rand vr 638 house demolition

I've knocked down houses using a cable and large tractor to pull the corners out but I was wondering if a vr 638 could be used to take down a two story house. It's located in a rural area and if I knock it down and burn it I can hire a track hoe to bury the remains. A staircase is located in...

    Excavator crushed under silo

I guess I would've felt safer if he would've secured it by cable on the opposite side of the hoe. We talked about pulling it over with a cable but the ladder didn't look secure and we had too many buildings nearby. This wasn't a poured silo, it was built with 2 x 3 foot pieces of concrete and...

    Excavator crushed under silo

I saw a guy a couple years ago lean a deere 200 against a very similar silo and use a sledge to knock out bricks on the opposite side. We hired the guy because if it went any way but east it would've taken out other buildings. He would knock out a couple bricks, jump in the seat and give it a...

    Cat 345 B series

I haven't paid much attention to anything larger than a 345 being sold but I have noticed that the 330's and the 345's aren't bringing much more than the 320's and 325's at auction. You need more permits to move the 330's and 345's but if you're only doing smaller jobs the lighter machines have...
