Hopefully it turns up. I just don't know how busy the cops are or how much priority this would have. Sounds like someone or a group is targeting the site.
They are all unrelated for sure. The one who broke into yard was just a bum with wire cutters, tracked him down to a tim hortons nearby with police dog, but with our justice system even with having warrants out for him already the cop said he likely would get back out that night. The breaking doors on hoe was a job in a bad area, just bums looking for chit. The truck was i'm sure a bum looking for a ride. So related in the way of deadbeats wanting chit that ain't there's, but not linked to the same one or anything. All happened in different parts of city.
I think one thing that works in my favor is with this crap going on some pawn shops are closed and trying to pawn stuff isn't going to be near as easy. May just take what they can carry and leave the rest.
I don't think they have any desire to catch them because our system just let's them right back out so they figure what's the point?
Bad news is spoke to insurance for my liability, they cannot find any coverage for the tools, waiting to hear from my broker. And even if they find coverage, unless they recover truck with damage to show they broke in, no coverage. They said a lot will depend what the cops say when it's recovered. I am HOPING they will understand the situation and make sure the report is in my favor. Even if all goes well, they still won't cover everything, only tools they deem related to company. I mentioned I had a code reader in truck, nope not covered. $500 glasses won't be either. So i'd have to submit a 3rd claim for my house insurance to try and get that covered, but if there's any deductible it won't be worth it. Auto adjuster good so far. Up to $7000-$7500 of stuff in my list so far, about $1500 is attached and will be covered by auto.
According to the specs on this fiberglass tank the bladder is 100 percent replaceable... I didn't look to see if anyone sells the bladder but I'd imagine it's got to be cheaper than a whole new tank....Current tank at our place is steel outer rubber bladder inner, know these to only last 10-15 years and the bladders fail.
There seem to be a lot of vehicles being stolen right now. I need to ask... were the keys in it? With all the trucks being stolen right now, I'm wondering how they are getting them started. I broke one of my key fobs once, had a key cut, and even with the broken fob on the key ring, the truck wouldn't start. I see these young punks everytime I go out to plow snow. They broke into a bunch of Bell Telephone trucks and took tools. I was talking to one of the guys at bell. I asked him if one of the tool boxes looked like a blue tackle box, he said yes. Told him I saw it behind the dumpster at the Salvation Army when I plowed that morning. It was gone. cop figured they put the stuff there and came back for it after. Worst thing the guy said, is that the tools are specific to their work, and no good to anyone else. This summer, a man and woman walked down the main drag in town in the middle of the day, someone noticed them cutting the copper ground off the hydro poles and called the cops. They had cut the ground off over 200 poles, they had over 30 in their bag. Drugs, just plain and simple, they even try to get seniors to give up their perscriptions outside the drug stores. They are all unrelated for sure. Careful with the insurance company. I know a guy that had two houses in two different states. In about a years time, both were broken into and some tools and one car was stolen from the garage. Car was recovered. Within a short time his homeowners was put on high risk and was a 10k bill per year. Said if he had known it would happen he would have never turned in the claims.

Excellent reading, both of them.Couple good reads if you're that way inclined.

There could be some really good buys on used trucks now with a lot of people not working and needing money for living expenses.
I've emailed a few people on Kijiji asking what kind of price they'd do if I come buy in cash right away, we'll see what kind of responses I get. But many prices are $5-10k high. A 1-2 year old truck with 50km on it isn't worth buying for like $5k less then new.
