Yes it was. I own welding and milling equipment and I've
done a lot of tool manufacturing in the past. Probably not
an easy job if you don't have machining experience of some
sort. Depending on your machine, it could be easier than mine.
The big problem with mine is that the space between the inner
stick and the outer stick was less than the thickness of the
nylon (.75" nylon). What make & model do you have and how
thick are the steel slides?

how much time do you have ?. it was stolen in 1998 & recovered in 2009 after 11 years. it was found in a junk yard .poor thing had a hard life . i guess when you don't pay for somthing it dosen't matter.i bought it from the insurance companey for cost of towing & storage . was a sight for sore eyes filthy dirty ,flat tire ,stableizers down ,extendahoe out,and a rod through the block.kick my a!@# $%s no pic's .chapter#2!! found a good used motor for $3000.00 with 5 k hrs, 2 rear tire's 75% $200.00 various hoses lights and things .so far total investment 6~6500.00.oh since it was in hideing no road running or salt = next to no rust.nice talking at ya tb

I had a call from a fellow, couple of weeks back, asking about what oils to put in his 580SLE. I asked a few more questions & he had also just purchased it as an insurance write off. Been laying on it's side for a couple of weeks! Broken side glass & windscreen; pulled injectors to be sure of no oil above pistons; topped all oils; new battery; & thank your mother for the apples :yup
Paid $5000 for it ........... here you can get $35000 tomorrow for it :yup......... why am I never blessed like that :beatsme

chapter#3 just right place right time .i just happened to stop in at the tow yard to shoot the s;;t and they were on the phone with the insurance companey . they were going to have to tow it to toronto about 4.5 hour's away and they did not want to spend more money on it.so i made offer on it and the rest is history. p/s had it 3 months before wife found out . morel of the story is far esay'r to seek forgiveness than ask permission haha.tb
