Maybe we should start a new thread about the Pacific Car and Foundry and the M26 cause this thread was to do with the OTHER Pacific Not a biggie but it could confuse some of the guys not familiar with what we are talking about. Will see about posting a few pics of them with the Madill yarder strapped to their back as well as Wynns

Here is an old Percy Logging unit, still doing fire duty, always liked the look of that dash style. Classic!

somewhere in my unorganized garage I have a parts breakdown of the knucky chain drive

Well that will be a great bit to scan & post, Although you might want to check to see if a new thread has been started for the Pacific (PACCAR) M-26 Dragon Wagon. As it was discussed earlier in this thread.

One more. I asked one of the owners about how they managed to run the off highway rigs down to the exhibition grounds in North Cowichan. He said that it was a problem - the HDX's supposedly are maxed out weight wise for the front axle (is this true?) - however some of these units might be grandfathered to allow them to travel on the open road with the suitable pilot vehicles.

Sunday Visit.

I popped in again to the show today, to see if anything else had shown up. There were a few changes from yesterday. Here's a another shot of the Pacific from another angle.

Hope the moderators don't mind I've already posted this link in another thread but I think it belongs here.
Its a P510 that worked in the Kaingaroa forest New Zealand, had a second engine in the first trailer giving it a combined 1000hp and over 200 tonne payload. http://www.xtrucking.co.nz/lmagee.html

HSV127 The twin -power was very well covered in magazines back in the 90's. She came from Canada originally Seems to me Lance had a lot of trouble getting the two trans to shift into and out of lock-up together, I recall that one would go into lock-up and the other was still in converter mode till they got it dialed in with the computer. Funny she had two throttle pedals and two retarder pedals. Somewhere I got pics that show the interior of the cab. Last I heard of her she was parted with the trailer and all split up Truck was sold or scrapped. Have you got any pictures of her today?? Is she in fact still around. I know Lance sure loved that truck.

Yeah I remember reading some articles on it and I used to have a poster of it when it was top truck in NZ Trucking Magazine. I can imagine there was a few teething problems with it haha.
Sad to see it split up, such a proud looking rig! Unfortunately I haven't got any pictures of it and all I know is that it was deregistered in 1999. Would love to know what happened to it.
