Nothing very exciting going on this week. Grading shoulders, redecked a bridge and worked on repairing some bike paths. The only exciting thing was using the new trailer. We have been picking up more mulch business and figure a big trailer would help out a lot plus cut time and fuel cost by 1/3. Not sure but Volvo, Peterbilt, East or Peterson Pacific could use one of the picks in an add:D

Thats a nice trailer! How many cu. yds. is it? Its a shame the belt on the grinder doesn't raise any higher or you could belt it right into the trailer as it grinds it.

Thanks, it's 120 yards. We can load off the grinder but we were doing a test load to see how many buckets it takes to load it.

I hear ya. I like the way that truck looks as well. My brother likes it a lot better than his old truck. He's been adding some ginger bread to the inside to.

A company I help uses basically the same trailer but made by Peerless. We do 80yd loads and it's 17.5 buckets with the oversize bucket (4.5yrd I believe) on the Komatsu WA200. Things should speed up once the 3rd function is installed on the new to them WA320 for the 6yd high dump bucket.

The week started out kinda boring. We finished some bike path repairs then built the guardrail to finish our road job. After that things got interesting. Weds. night, we got a call from the fire department and asked if we could bring an excavator to a house fire. The roof was copper and caved in and made it impossible for them to put the fire out under the copper. My brother finished that about 1:30 am on Thurs then I went there Thurs morning and the fire department asked us to stay and help move debris for the investigation. After we finished with that, the rain started, we have had about 16 inches from Thurs at lunch to Sunday and it is still raining.

They do not think it was arson. The fire actually started around noon on Weds so it was in the middle of the day and they got us just before 10:00 pm. It was a second home and nobody had been there for a while.

I forget where you are at exactly in South Carolina, but how are you guys fairing with all of the rain you got?

Thanks for asking, We did fine other about 2 inches of water in our garage. Several jobs got flooded out and had to setup pumps but everyone is fine and the equipment is all ok. I do appreciate you asking!
