As an owner op I drove alongside other owner ops with the philosophy quoted above. They had the chrome and high horsepower and were members of the "left lane club".
They couldn't drive when it was slick, wouldn't go to shippers/receivers with tight docks or yards and were generally prima donnas. Their trucks weighed 1500-2500 lbs more then mine.
Alot of found memories from back in my cattle haulin days. Ran alot of miles with that needle on the speedometer pegged. No such thing as taking a nap. Start getting a little sleepy.... Pull a 'toothpick' out of the visor. Chew on that for a little bit and you were good to go the rest of the night!!! My last truck was an '02 379 C15 18 spd with 308 rear ends 280 inch wb. If it wasnt the first one to the top of the hill it wasnt too far behind. 1500-2500 lbs heavier didn't really matter. Almost always heavy so rarely crossed the scales loaded. When the weather would get bad and they would close the interstate we would get off and run the 2 lane roads. No such thing as pulling into a truckstop and waiting for the interstate to open back up with a load of critters on!!! Man I had alot of fun back then!!! Just sayin' not all of the 'left lane guys' were prima donnas......

I don't know most everyone passed me, then two hundred miles later same would pass me again.
Enough of chrome/polish and highway hijinks.

Interior is much like a Cascadia, except better instrumentation, gauges are laid out better.
Seats are much more comfortable, very quiet little road noise. Vision and mirrors also good.
Plenty of room between seat and dash. These are easier to access engine with that type of
hood bumper. All cab controls are same as Cascadia. Twin stacks with small diameter pipe
which I like personally, tired of those stupid cow hauler pipes, another reason I like them
is those will bug everyone else.

As far as ride, driving unladen isn't a very good test, but it rode decent for no weight.
If I was a driver, would I take it over a PacCar, absolutely, for it's wheel base it has a very
tight turning radius. Overall a fairly nice tractor for these days.
Probably have several more to ferry back to yard in coming weeks.

Had a tow today down the gorge on I-84, I counted 11 new Western Star piggybacks.
Some were one on piggy and some two's. That's the most I've ever seen on a trip
towards Portland. Stars are Built in Portland Ore. Tow was 364 total miles, finish it tomorrow.

Odd no one asked what was in front of drive tires, "Auto chains". He was going to drop
them but decided to keep installing. The one other item he did drop is {Buck Stop} bumper/
guard. Wasn't cost effective, and it caused drivers to skip opening hood to check fluids.

Do auto chains meet the requirements for chaining up?
I wouldn't think so. I think they are for intermittent use and not for extended use on roads that require chains by law.
If chain-up/traction devises required signs are lite up, slow to 25mph flip cover up covering
Onspot toggle switch to -on. But it requires installing drag chains {two singles to trailer axles}
Auto chains are DOT legal.

I like symmetry but I don't see the point in a fake stack. Looks extra stupid in winter when only one stack has white clouds pouring out of it.
That Peterbilt i was running had a fake stack. But it still had a y pipe that was capped. Mind blown
