Tony, what's up with the D6N?.it seems too new to be broken down. The tipper driver should have gone to specsavers?????
I am also interested to know what you are upto on the old D7E.Is it ps or dd and does the owner still use it.
The D8 with the new steering bands was wanted back at the quarry last week but I am too busy at the yard at the moment, but it would be nice to give it a proper dogging. The D5 is still keeping the rust off the blade.

Hi Nicky, the D6N was nothing other than the oil supply pipe to the trans pump "think radiator top hose here" as that is about what it looks like, the D7E 47A D.D. is just 1 of Many CAT's these people own from D8H 22A (near the last 1 built on Serial No) down to D2's with a few I.H. tractors to keep them company, I was working on a D8H 68A this week, its a bit of a knacker but the Farmer can nurse the chariot around his land a treat, I bought a 3306DI spacer plate motor of him complete fan to flywheel (and more) I don't need it but could not leave it as its a strong runner, its of the nature to the D6H/R motor so you can understand why it needed tucking under my arm, I had my toys started up today (951 & D8K) ready to muck about with them in the next few weeks, my new Land Rover is now built so I am waiting for the call to collect it asap.

Hey Tony

took a day off today and headed up to solihul for a quick tour of the defender production line they said there had been a few gremlins in your new one but they thought they had evicted them all lol can you believe they monsoon test them in a special chamber mine leaks every where in the slightest shower let alone gong through a puddle or a monsoon its a real shame to see the end of the road for the defender hope your new one serves you well and enjoy the fact it will probably worth more when you come to sell it than it was when you brought it

Strachan, I did the "Defender Tour" and had a good study of the Monsoon Shed and the men running around with Mastic Guns to bodge up flood holes, the thing I missed was the start up for the first time of the engine, my old charabanc is still in top nick and is going to need a bit of thought on how to get rid of it in about 2 weeks time, as for selling the new mount, I would like the Bride to strap me in it and dig a hole around it when I pull my pin ready for my final trip, my old mount has never let me down and been about the best 1 ever owned, the Motorways used to be the killer for L/Rovers but this thing eats the miles without any drama, I can say that I have had at least 1 L/Rover always from the age of 17 as it was my first Car (Series 2A Ex Army) with all my Spooning and Doing with possible brides done in low range?

The dozer with the cushion and junk on the track, treasures from the cab?? At first look I thought you were using the cushion to cushion you while working on it.

Well here is a few verbs to help with the snaps, these are a few jobs from this last month with a few modern chariots that I thought worth a snap or 2, the white gunge dripping out from the 3304 engine is only about half the problem with more to come about this little banger, the red engine is a 3306 D.I. spacer plate motor that I bought to sell or swap??? the swinger with the track off was a bit dodgy as the excavator had a Lake behind it and was starting to slip down the clay bank, I think it was an F.H.380 ? the D8H with the knee pads on the track was copping 2 new oil coolers, then there is a few pic's of 1 of my toys (951B) as I started it up after its winter snooze, the digger thing with 1 axle is a Smalley and very scarce, I am going to sort the Lister engine on it soon, the Jeep is also 1 of my toys getting its belly rubbed, the D8H 22A is just starting to fetch out a crater with the D6H-II getting it's "Lecky" sorted by me note the wiring diagram on the track, it was some pain to sort with loads of issues, the D4's seemed thick on the ground with the first 1 needing starting up after about 20 years snoozing in the shed, the next 1 was poking on the sprockets, the 3rd 1 was a run away job on the throttle, the injector pumps need oil in them? the flat bed of a truck was converted into an Injection Pump room complete with my flask, the little Case thing is owned by a lonely old Farmer that needed a bit of help so I popped the track back on for him F.O.C. as he is a cracking old fella with heaps of old Excavators Dozers and tractors dumped on his Farm and he makes me smile loads, then we have the D6D that has a wounded leg getting fixed in the Car Park with people walking past lugging shopping bags, the green tractor with a D4H being dragged behind it, popped in to ask if I could sort his track groups as he was passing? the Dozer's with the 3 front Idlers are Vickers Vigors, there is 2 here, 1 has a Scraper Winch fitted with the Scraper parked around the side of the barn, the other has a Timber-Recovery Winch fitted, these bangers are scarce to see now so to spot 2 at rest with heaps of spare parts including undercart scattered about is a treat, the Steam Engine things well there was Sheds full of them and this was just 1 snap of the sooty things, the Orange Loader a Mega something had copped a Mega drama between its back wheels (Diff) it was a nasty dirty job to pop it to bits, the Komatsu swinger was a "Butt Clencher" as the 1 recoil spring had snapped resulting in the recoil being jambed solid in the Track Frame under massive tension, I had to cut trough 5 coils to make things safe and get the recoil free, I will be pressing the Track pins in on Monday on the new chains, the thing is a 290 so its running on 340 undercart 1"3/4 pin x 8"1/2 pitch (roughly) anyhow the "Firm" me by myself is sort of flat out but I did manage to collect my new Defender the other day, at the moment its just dumped in my yard but it will be getting some stuff done to it over the next few weeks, I need to do it slowly so the Bride cannot spot how much coin I waste on it non Factory Fit, I will admit to spending a Toe Curling amount so I am expecting a Bollocking any second. tctractors
