I was looking to purchase a 936 Cat loader a few months ago. I saw one on Machinery Trader that was painted and had 936F decals snd advertised as a 936F. It had a 33Z serial number which is an earlier 936. It had outboard planetaries, dead giveaway if you know anything about 936's. If you did not know much, you would if you bought it. I did end up with a decent earlier 33Z 936 and was less than 200 mile away.

Oh there's some real shysters out there when it comes to used equipment. Much worse than just the Dupont overhaul.

Can some one give me the info on a D6 5R please.

5R 4035 I believe is the number. It's hidden in front of the winch.

Hi, I need some information on a Cat 950gII, the owner says it's a 2008, but on Google shows that only goes up to 2006.

The first photo is the S/N tag for the Hydraulic Control which in itself doesn't mean much apart from when parts information is required. 51G prefix is a model 153 Hyd Control first built in 1963 in the UK.

The second one is the big deal. Somehow you will need to make the stamped/painted numbers more reabable. With the Hyd Control having been built in the UK I assume that the tractor will also be a UK-built machine. So it is likely the S/N prefix of the tractor will be 82A (direct drive) or 83A (powershift) because production of both those models started in 1964.

I don't think it's likely to be the later 46J/47J prefix D6C tractor because production of those models did not start in the UK until 1968.
