I went to use our Deere 310G for the first time in a couple of months, and I've noticed an issue with second gear. It engages, but only works at about 25% power before it dies off. The pedal seems to function properly. First, third, fourth, and reverse gears are all working fine. I don't hear any noise.

Before I call a mechanic, are there any specific checks or tests I should run to troubleshoot the issue?

Welcome to HEDF JD;)!

Your serial indicates you have a 4 speed shifter on the floor, is that correct?

If so, most would think the clutch cutout would affect every gear, but the clutch cutout circuit on your shift lever can flex and have a loss of a gear when placed into a specific gear. So make sure the clutch cutout button and its wiring are sound.

I appreciate the welcome and response! You are correct, it's a 4-speed on the floor. The machine has lived in and been abused in 2nd gear for most of its life. Hoping it's nothing major. I will investigate what you've suggested and check back in. Thank you!
