    1970 Clark C70 7k forklift - no tilt

Are you sure you're not getting fluid flow to the tilt cylinders? If no flow when actuated then it's probably a valve related problem. If you're getting fluid flow, then maybe you're bypassing in one or both cylinders depending on how your hydraulics are hooked up. Hopefully it's a simple...

    Spicing wires and plugs

For these kind of wires (similar to trailer light wires and such), in my opinion it's not so much how you connect them together, it's how you seal them afterwards to keep the moisture out (to prevent corrosion). I agree with soldering and covering with heat shrink but definitely use a heat...

Removing extremely tight cut off bolts

I've always wondered how an impact worked also and stumbled upon this video a couple years that's pretty educational. He also has a channel where he does a pretty good, scientific testing of various impacts over the years, along with other types of tools. I have no affiliation with him but I...

Removing extremely tight cut off bolts

Yeah, I hear ya on swinging the BFH becomes pretty hard on one's body after reaching a certain point in life. Same thing with big wrenches, cheater bars, pry bars, etc. Now I do my best to find easier but effective solutions instead of just brute force like I did back in my young and dumb...

Removing extremely tight cut off bolts

A bit late to the game here but impact drivers are pretty good at loosening bolts vs a wrench and long cheater. I think my success with impacts guns/drivers is by alternating the direction every couple seconds to force the threads in both directions instead of just one direction. And an impact...

    Ignition fuse keeps popping

This ^^^^! Another way to force your favorite cleaner into the DB2 without cranking is to use a cheap garden sprayer pump and make about 1/2 gallon of your favorite witches brew of cleaners (Brake cleaner, acetone, ATF, SeaFoam, B12, etc.). I tie it directly into the fuel line and pressurize...

    EZ Equipment Zone Ligit?

Okay- no problem on seeking advice from professionals in the field you're thinking of investing in. That's actually a very smart move before tossing money at something. But I have to ask, what do you mean by you are an investor? EZEquipment assists individuals in setting up an equipment...

    Cat 320D no start

Great- I didn't realize that was a serial number as it seems pretty short but maybe the Cat experts understand it. Best of luck with the fuel issues.

    Cat 320D no start

Welcome, Justin, to HEF. You'll find a wealth of helpful folks here willing to bend over backwards to help. I recommend posting the serial number so folks can pull up the exact specs on your machine. Oh, and using periods in your messages helps us 'old' folks to better understand the issue.

PART NEEDED BAD: FOR A HOUGH 60

Yeah, that's kinda what I was getting at. If you can beef up the 'outside of the bends' with plate and there's room for it, then an easy, ugly fix might be able to be done to get it back to service. If the outside is the only room for material reinforcing, it might be possible to make a couple...

PART NEEDED BAD: FOR A HOUGH 60

Do you have to follow that exact geometry due to interference issues? What's causing the need for the 'dip' in the link? If you have the space available, I'd re-weld that drag link and beef up the corners with triangle plates. The plates may extend outward and don't have to be the exact...

    Goodall Jump packs

Lithium ion automotive batteries are readily available on the market but they are still expensive compared to lead acid batteries when used as a starting battery in automotive setups. A cheap (i.e. unreliable) lithium ion automotive battery is still 2-3x the price of a lead acid. The other...

    Goodall Jump packs

We build portable air cooling/ventilation systems the military. Think of a ruggedized, overbuilt fan that runs on batteries and is used to keep maintenance crews cools when working on hot equipment in hot environments.

    New guy no clue

Great way to learn machines is by renting them and it looks like you're having fun doing it. But there is a downside to it also: Now you're spoiled on a machine that doesn't need to be worked on and it has a beefy progressive thumb.

Nice repair- hope it works like new.

    Goodall Jump packs

To mockingly quote myself, I really am impressed with the amount of power a li-ion battery pack can produce and I wanted to explain it a bit more so folks here can make up their own mind about using them or not. Here's a pic of a Cat Group 31 lead-acid battery with a military issue Brentronics...

    Goodall Jump packs

I'll split it with ya as I think we're both right as much as we're both wrong. I was looking at the specs on a random website so I decided to download the actual brochure for better info. I stand corrected as the brochure says the 12V battery is 236.8 Watt-hours while the 12V/24V is 296...

    Goodall Jump packs

Well, you're in luck. The smaller Goodall's are reasonably priced but the largest 12v version is already above a $1k. What's ridiculous is 12v/24v version is almost $2k but it's not double the capacity of the 12v. As far as I can tell, it's the same battery capacity of the $1k 12v which means...

    Farm use excavator

A hoe is designed to dig and load as it's main capabilities. The thumb adds the pick/place/pull capabilities. If you're not planning on doing a lot of pick/place/pull, then the thumb is optional. But for a farm, I'd think the pick/place/pull is the most needed capability.

    Goodall Jump packs

The clamps on the DSR were pretty beefy. DSR is by Schumacher so pretty good quality but I'm sure you're paying for it compared to others. Again, I just borrowed it one time and it was the only jump packed I've ever used so use my one data point with caution. And yes, I agree 100% that...
