    Best snowplow for skid steer

I’m currently running an HLA 2000 series snow blade on a utility tractor for my personal driveway. My brother has an HLA 3000 series on a compact front end loader, used commercially. Both are used exclusively on dirt/gravel. I like the ram design and orientation on these snow blades, keeps...

    Hydraulic pump rebuild/ replace. 312B

I have had good experiences at NH Hydraulics (listed above), Curtis Hydraulics (in Hooksett) and Elite Hydraulics (in Milford). NH Hydraulics will pick up and deliver if that important to you.

Prepping a house site and building a house

That’s the claim, although I know of several that have had to be replaced. Whether that’s due to user abuse or other factors I am not sure. Presby systems are very common where I live due to the high seasonal water table.

Prepping a house site and building a house

It’s a Presby Environmental Enviro-Tube system. There are two ways that these systems are designed, serial distribution or parallel distribution. Parallel distribution is connected similar to a traditional pipe-and-stone system and uses a distribution box from the tank to feed each run of tubes...

Prepping a house site and building a house

Holiday weekend?! More painting! After I had sprayed two coats of ceiling paint in the main room/kitchen area you could see “shadowing” on the ceiling. This seemed to be caused by the Sheetrock taped areas reflecting light differently (despite the primer supposedly preventing that). With the...

    Overload of the Day

My brother runs a landscape company, recently they finished a flagstone patio installation and had a partial pallet of bluestone leftover. Client didn’t want it, so my brother put it up on Facebook. About a day later, a prospective buyer showed up… with a Honda CRV. They took the whole pallet…

    Cat 311B swivel R&R

Well, @heymccall I owe you a drink. I bolted the bottom half to the track frame once it was properly aligned. A big strap wrench and an 18” breaker bar and I was able to rotate the top half to the correct alignment. All the hoses are connected and I tested it out with no leaks. Fingers crossed...

    Cat 311B swivel R&R

Yeah, I wish the shop had done that. As it is, it’s 180 degrees off from where it should be.

    Cat 311B swivel R&R

Thanks! I tried turning the top with the bottom bolted but the limited access made that very difficult. So I figured that securing the top and then rotating the bottom (with the lower bolts out) would be easier. Maybe that’s not the case….

    Cat 311B swivel R&R

Anyone? I’m going to try to finish this up today. @heymccall any suggestions for aligning the swivel on these old Cat excavators?

    Cat 311B swivel R&R

So, I’m finally getting back to this project. I had the swivel re-sealed and they found one small score on the spool that was filled and re-machined. I started installing the swivel in the machine today but ran into a small problem. When the swivel is correctly aligned with the reaction rod in...

Prepping a house site and building a house

Well, welcome to the insane asylum! Sheetrock is finished on the first and second floor, I sprayed a PVA primer on all the fresh drywall and then sanded it out. Then a vapor barrier primer on all exterior walls and ceilings. Sanded that coat out too… Then sprayed two coats of flat white ceiling...

    Mining excavators role call

Ok, I’ve got a question- why do Liebherrs have the boom cylinders mounted upside down from all other brands?

Seems like a pretty thorough package that they sent. I assume that he had to pick the stain color when he ordered the package?
