I hauled a load to the local place he said it had dropped some. I hope to get some cars loaded and make a deal with the far away place to sell him all of them.

So far price here is holding at $110T for unprepared steel. Actually quote a per pound price for prepared and for copper or aluminum where that is pretty fluid right now.

I have at least 8 cars i want to haul right now i hope to haul a load the first of the week. I just about have a load ready. I pull the rads, cats, fuel tank and if they have wheels. It takes about all day to do 3 cars . If i had a concrete slab i could do it alot faster i would sweep up the mess when i am done but out in the dirt its hard to clean up glass if some gets broken.

Our scrapper at Rosebud is like that, so long as gate is open can get off the highway otherwise next entry to his yard to turn around and wait is another 1/8 mile on a blind corner. Not much fun early.

I hauled a load early to day i was pushing over 13' tall and stuck out like a sore thumb so i made sure every thing was good. I used 10 chains and 11 boomers on 3 cars. Two cars were stuffed with small stuff i didnt think i would have more than 4 tons but i had over 6tons. My c70 pulled it good i would like a bigger trailer but i can do it with what i have. If i dont find a deal on a trailer i may build one after i get most of my junk hauled.

What did you get per TN Doug?
It had dropped some i got $95.00 a ton. I would like to haul 3 more this week if i can. I think 60 miles up the road they are paying 110.00 but is it worth the extra time and miles? If i could haul 5 cars a trip i would go farther i did that trip alot before this closer place opened.

I made 2 trips today and i am dead tired then i went to work and worked till 5:00 then went back to the farm and pulled another van out to start another load. I hope to load a load of cars and a load of lose stuff this weekend. After this i have rigs that i think i want to save parts off of that will be slow going. I saw the owner today and he raised me $10.00.

Middle North Carolina ... Yesterday's Pick-up load. $5.83 per hundred weight of shredder steel. Paid for the gas to get it there... Getting it off the farm... Priceless :):)

Glad to hear prices are coming up. I used to haul scrap when I was in high school using a pickup and a dump trailer. It was a bit of bull work loading and securing, but it was always a quick unload at the recyclers.
