We're glad you've found us! Take a few minutes to let us know what your position and experiences are in the heavy equipment industry, and what interests/hobbies you enjoy.

Since I was late in coming up with this forum, existing members are welcome to post as well.

Please put your username in the "Subject Line".

Thanks, and enjoy your stay!
Had seen the site in the past. I recently read about it at the ACMOC bulliten board. I operated heavy equipment for 15 years doing soil conservation and construction work untill the company was sold. I then went to work for the Dept. of Transportation in Kansas and am now a supervisor. I don't get to operate the equipment as much as I used to or would like but I get by. I collect scale model construction equipment whenever I can convince the wife/banker. I just recently purchased a D4(the real thing not a model). It is a 1943 2T. Work on it as I can.

Welcome to the forum Corey, stump-rancher, and jbernd. :usa

Good to hear you work at Leemar stump-rancher, we can use another Hitachi wrench here. -3 Doc is a Hitachi wrench and stops in here on occasion, but the more the better. I've purchased a few aftermarket parts from Leemar, last I recall was a muffler for an EX100 at a good price. ;)

Hello all!

Great site with a ton of good information. I found this site through Google just searching for info on a TD8E i intend on buying hopefully within the next couple weeks. My dad has some acreage in western WA and we will be using the dozer just for the occasional tasks and to play on. Dozers have always been my favorite piece of heavy equipment. My dad owned a Hitachi EX-60, and I got pretty good operating that, and have operated a couple JD 450's over the years, as well as some ag tractors.

How long before I can start a topic? I want to get your guys' input on the TD8E and want to post pics of the undercarriage etc. The dealer tells me it's at 60% but the bushings seem pretty worn and the right sprocket is quite worn. I dropped some oil samples of at a lab to be analyzed and should have the results in a day or so.

Many thanks to the administrators and the regular posters on this board, I have enjoyed and learned quite a bite from you all!!

I have been a life long Farmer, in the off season a Truck Driver, Carpenter, you name it. But the one I enjoyed and learned the most from was my 6 years at a Stone Quarry. I've since moved to far away to continue to help there and have started my own company, bought a Long Reach Excavator to clean Drainage Ditches with so this will be my part time work when not tending crops and cattle.

I will be looking forward to starting new threads as I have questions about my machine, ditch cleaning, and also helping others when I can.

again Thank You for this Forum. Dave

Hi,
I'm new to the forum and just bought my first piece of equipment the other day, its a Nemco bulldog 725 mini loader. After hours of trying to search the internet for info on this, I decided I needed to find a forum full of knowledge and expertise. I have operated and worked on skidsteers, mini excavators, and dozers.

My name is Jeremy I have owned my own buisness for 7 years now. We cater toward the horse industry developing and renovating farms. I grew up around heavy equipment and just never got it out of my blood. I have been floating around this board for awhile and there is an incredible amount of knowledge on it. I appreciate everyone that shares a little.

hi all , im a builder by trade .i have run some equipment before but limited .three years ago i bought a cat 312 excavator for use on my property here in the adirondack mtns of ny .ive done quite a bit of work with it here on the proprty to include two ponds and about 5000 ft of road work so i can access my sugarbush better .last winter i think i ruined a primary drive ,i was moving the machine and it just stopped ,like i was up against an object .i backed up ,tried again and heard this not so cool " bang".shortly after hydraulic fluid started leaking out of the final drive area,so i shut the machine down.i let it sit for the rest of the winter(to cold up here) and am just now tryin to figure out what the deal is . the oil level has left the sight glass since then . my questions are:
#1 where could if find an excerpt for the final drive part of the shop manual ?
#2 if i take off the cover on the inside of the drive am i opening a giant can of worms ?
#3 why arent these things as easy to work on as an old indian motorcycle?
many thanks in advance for any help you guys could share , im fairly mechanically inclined but new to this heavy machine repair.in case its important the serial #is 6blo016xx
regards ,tom

hey tom this will be a major job as you have to be aware of oil contaminants and metal in the system sounds like you may be up for a reconditioned pump as well

suggest dont open the can of worms get a hydraulic expert to look at it and quote here in Australia you would be looking at 20k

We are a equipment dealer located in Jacksonville, FL. We buy & sell used heavy equipment, we also dismantle and containerize equipment to ship overseas.

I joined to forum to communicate with the community and get some information about user/sellers/buyers etc. I will not post any listings etc as I would assume they are against forum rules. Besides our website, we do have a Flickr account and a YouTube account where you can see pictures and videos of equipment we sold/are selling or have containerized. I would recommend looking at the containerization pictures and videos, I think they are very cool. It is interesting to see a huge trackhoe to go into a container.

Regards,
Big Iron, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL.
