Pressure build up in fuel tank - Normal??

Yes, I did read that in another post. Tried just touching the starter key a couple of times but no luck. I ended up pressurizing the fuel tank with compressed air and forcing fuel up into the system that way. The fuel pump is obviously working, would you recommend I remove it for inspection...

Pressure build up in fuel tank - Normal??

Finally had a chance to bring the hoe down out of the woods for some servicing and had a good look at everything. I could blow through the fuel vent with compressed air but could not get WD40 to spray through from the can. Is it possible the cap has a pressure release valve built into it...

Pressure build up in fuel tank - Normal??

I had a chance to take a closer look at the cap yesterday, should have taken a picture but I found these on the internet that should work. There appears to be a small screw and two rivets holding the clasp to the underside of the cap. I can see two small holes (vent holes??) but no appearance...

Pressure build up in fuel tank - Normal??

So can the vent be cleared or do I need to buy a new fuel cap?

Pressure build up in fuel tank - Normal??

2001 JCB series 3 backhoe that has a fuel leak. I know where the leak is and what is causing the leak but I'm not sure what the real problem is. Here goes: when sun hits the fuel tank in the morning, tank warms up and pressurizes the tank. (think of a plastic fuel can that swells up when left...

JCB parts manual - US model

Jeff, I checked the fluids in the hub and they were just a down maybe a 1/4 inch. There is no play in the wheel so I believe the bearing is still good. I will probably just keep a careful eye on the fluids for now and fix later in the fall. Just a few small jobs this summer and no travelling...

JCB parts manual - US model

It works! Jeff, thank you for your help. I followed the guide that said to input the last 7 digits, not 6. How did you know six would work? Thanks again, Brian Edit: Just tried all 7 and that worked as well. Maybe I tried the full serial number initially?

JCB parts manual - US model

Hi, I have a JCB backhoe serial number SLP214TCYU0900118. Front hub just lost most of it's oil and am assuming bearing and seal need replacing. Haven't had a chance to take it apart yet but does anyone know of an online parts lookup? I tried https://parts.jcb.com but it won't take my serial...

Torgue Converter slipping in high gears?

Sorry for the poor choice of words, I believe it says Powershift on the side of the window. I wonder could the clutch packs be slipping for 3rd and 4th gears? I know I really need to take it in and start trouble shooting but right now it is back in to my cabin and won't be out for a few weeks.

Torgue Converter slipping in high gears?

I would have thought it would be lower than 2100 but then this is my first backhoe with a hydrostatic tranny. Can anyone tell me what the stall speed should be for 2001 JCB 214 Series 3 with turbo?

Torgue Converter slipping in high gears?

Do you mean transmission temperature? The only gage it has is the engine temperature and no change there.

Torgue Converter slipping in high gears?

Hi Everyone, 2001 JCB 214 Series 3 with 5000 hrs showing. While travelling on paved road yesterday (first time out this year) I noticed I was losing a lot of speed on hills. The engine rpms were steady at approximately 2200 but speed was dropping drastically. Fourth is worse than third...

    Boom banging when travelling

It sounds like my problem is not unique. I will try the suggestions (pressure up - pressure down - no lock) and see what works best. Thanks for all the replies, Brian

    Boom banging when travelling

You mean force the boom down onto the lock? Thought of that but haven't tried it. I actually tried lifting the boom up tight off the lock as I was travelling but the cylinder leaks down and everything goes loose again.

    Boom banging when travelling

Never thought of that, will look into it. Can't remember having the same problem on my old Deere but then she never had any transport lock either.
