I currently have a pc50 that I run a bobcat brand auger on, it works fine, turns fairly slow, but still does the job at drilling holes. The guy i bought the auger from bought it for a bobcat 8000b class mini ex. I am not sure the model. I am now looking for a newer smaller machine, considering a pc35 8000b komatsu mini ex. I would like to use this auger on this machine if I buy it, just am curious if anyone has an opinion on if this machine will turn the auger ok. I see that the pc35 is a 28hp engine, not sure what my pc 50 is but i assume it is more hp but it also is a old machine that probably isn't putting out the hyd pressure it should, and not sure the hp that the bobcat this auger was originally on was...
what do y'all think, the hoses and mount will take some work, and I haven't bought the smaller komatsu so I can't try it out on the machine, but an auger is essential for me.

The gallonage is a lot less on a PC35 than a PC50 which would likelymake the auger turn slower and limit operation of other functions at the same time.

thanks thats what I was thinking, or worried about. The previous owner of the auger, who is my operator now, said the auger turned much faster on his newer 8000b bob cat excavator, does the bob cat 8000b machine have higher hydraulic flow or hp to make this work out, or is the wore out state of my pc50 likely the contributing limiter here?

also just noticed this should probably be on the compact excavator forum, sorry bout that

The PC35 does have two or three flow paths so it maybe possible to combine flows to get more oil to the auger drive. Years ago I did a mini with a three section gear pump, combined both main sections to get enough flow, reversible, and then took the blade section and split it to provide slow function for the boom, stick, and rotate. At least that's how I remember it. Bit of a plumbers nightmare but the customer was happy as a porker in a puddle.

I just got word that the machine I was considering sold, so that ship has sailed... Is there a certain machine that is best for turning implements (auger, maybe a trencher and possibly a flail mower) in the 8000lb size?

thanks
