Murk, how does the travel retarder work on the 044/144, from an operators' point of view. Like can you go down any steep hill without a snub? I've been told you pull the retarder on and just power your way down. True?

I suspect it was 12442. I remember Duncan Brown telling me that when he brought 12440 in Doug Kinny brought 12442 in.

I'd like to update the list as much as possible, hopefully all you guys can help. So many of these machines have changed hands, many to New Zealand. I think #23 went to NZ not too long ago. #18 is now with Northview timber, its painted dark green and there's a video of it on Youtube.
