The pit itself is off the island, so they'll blow the dike and let it fill in. It will create natural habitat for fish. As for the material that the took out, they'll leave it there, they say that it's natural for caribou to migrate over hills. They have work up there for the next 15-20 years.
Was thinking the fishing must be good around there. Gonna be nicer when you guys are done.
Those pictures are something else, you still at that mine?
Nice pictures traxs, does the Ecati mine?
So alco, those pics were taken in YK?? when they were loading?
That's one I couldn't answer for you. These were supplied to me by a friend at Terex Mining. I would assume they were taken when loading though. I wasn't sure if they flew the plane loads out of Edmonton or not. I do know the helicopter loads flew out of Yellowknife.

I was wondering about that, I would have figured it may have been cheaper to fly direct from Edmonton, but I guess not.

Just thought I'd post some pics of some big mining gear from sites I've been at (sorry it took a bit thorleif!) , the two shovels are a Demag H655S (Being serviced), and a Liebherr 996 (Getting bucket Teeth) , and the Trucks are a 930E Komatsu Electric, and a couple of 797B's (B for bloody big), one with a 793B!
