Hello Sigurd! It's very hard to find machines for sale. I have been looking at a beautiful machine in northern California, very nice but price almost same as when new. At the same time it showed up couple of very inexpencive Norwegian built Owren yarders in BC, so I bought one of those and imported it back in May... I am in the progress of mounting it on a Volvo A25C articulated frame truck. I also hope to buy one additional Owren that is for sale and pair those two up with a John Deere 1470D harvester and 1710D forwarder. Hopefully I will be able to earn money enough on this so the next one (in a year or two) will be a Thunderbird!

It is several pictures of this machine on the forum from earlier. This is the second of five totally produced 6240's and serial nbr S-5203, delivered in March 1999. This machine was originally in Thunderbird colors and was built before the Madill take over. I am not able to tell the big difference between the 6140 and 6240.

Who ended up with the TY-90 of Craig Carter's from Montesano?

The bulidrecords don't say anything abouta a Craig Carter but a Del Carter of Elma (8 miles west of Montesano) had a bought a new TY-90 (Y-9058) mounted on a Skagit T100 HD Trailer and it ended up in NZ working for Colin Rosewarne.

Rosewarne TY 90, Serial Y- 9039

NT Engineering is a engineering and mechanical workshop based in Whangarei, Northland, NZ. We are heavy involved to the logging industry in Northland and repair and refit alot of log haulers in the area. I noticed alot of people were asking about the work done to Lars Rosewarne TY 90. NT Engineering carried out this work and I can answer any questions you may have. From the photos you can see we removed the cab and fitted up a new tilt cab on the oppitsite side to were the old cab was fitted. New control systems were fitted and all drums removed checked and the machine has been working coming up a year now. Lars TY90.jpg

I have just come across an interesting use for a TMY 50.

An organization called the Long Now Foundation is building a clock in a mountain in Texas.

I believe it's called Clock One a clock built on a huge scale to run for ten thousand years.

What I had heard was that Swaggart from eastern Oregon was the owners of the Thunderbird.

The website where I found this was Longnow.org/clock/

Those are both photos of 9042.

I have a bit more info on the Olsen / Skyline Harvesting TY90. It is obviously not 9048 if it was still on the Washington carrier a couple of months ago. The Olsen TY90 has been in NZ for about 15 years and was imported with no ID tag therefore the identity of this machine is unknown. It does still have the carrier tag which is A116. I assume this is a BU739 number so would have been BU739-A116. I could get the engine serial number if anyone has build records which for which we could track the machine by that method.

Ok did some more research you were right it is 9048 the post about 9042 being converted got me comfused.Skagit SN are same for all models A116 could be the 16th of any model ever made but that is not the yarder sn its the sn of the carriers and has no conection with the hoist sn.

Yeah Im still drawing a blank on it too. Hopefully there is someone out there who remembers the machine leaving the states. Maybe a process of elemination is required.

Here are some pics of the only TMY-50 that was put on tracks. I'll have to come back later with the serial number and delivery date. I cannot find my Thunderbird builders list copies right this second. The originals are in a safe location my Washington State residence.

There was only one as far as I have been told more log of sweet home owned it I can't remember who has it know
