    I would say that alrman hit the nail on the head. We used to be a Case dealer and I replaced a lot of those snap rings. Seams like when it gets cold out they break.

    with the key switch in the on position, pull the wire off the oil sending switch on the block. touch the wire end to the block and see if the light on the dash comes on if it does then the sender is bad. if the light does not come then check it.

    That shaft is for the parking brake, there is suppost be a inch thick steel disk on it. there is all so a manual brake caliper bolted on the front of the transmission.

    Could have one of the steering cylinders bad, or maybe the carrier bearing on the king pins are shot and binding the pivit action. I would striaghten the tie rod and then adjust the toe-in.:usa
