I looked at this over and over, I think they all got out. I counted 4 standing there, saw 2 run out of the falling debris, then as the dust settled a 3rd limped out and the guy with the safety vest appeared helping someone out. That there didn't look like any rescue efforts were being made also makes me think they got out. They're damn lucky!

These guys are clowns from the word go, the way the forklift operator was handling the O2 bottles, which are under 2500 lbs pressure was scary by itself. If he had knocked the valve off just one cylinder, the whole pallet would have become a rocket. What a joke!

    Rescue.

    Hello.

I wonder if the guy on the manlift made it.
Yes, no rescue effort, but notice how the 2 guys run to the manlift, and walk away with heads down?
Perhaps that Was the rescue effort.
Remember, we have some very dumb people out there.

There is a Shorter version of this on youtube also, i saw it first and watched it a few times and thought "no way the guy with torch made it",

after i watched this one i think they all made it, like Steve said you can count most of them!

Ether way that was one hell of a screw-up, and if they did manage to walk away, i bet they all had to sit down shortly after!

While the guy on the forklift is the joke, this style of demolition is an art. Ive been on one large section of building that has been set up with a torch. It doesnt take much to go not far enough. It doesnt take much to go too far. The torch man is the only one who can tell, and it doesnt take much to go wrong. My guess is something was missed in setting up this crane. Very effective way to wreck when you are up against a wall so to speak.

Not much pictures, yet taken by me, with a friends camera.

    Hey..where was the safety officer!!!!!

Oh, that's right, they don't actually ever have to take responsibility for their jobs.

Wonder who he's going to blame???

Let's start a pool on who the scab safety officer will blame.....

These guys are scary. Why were there people standing under the crane while it was being cut? Too many people unecessarily in harms way. The forklift operator is his own accident waiting to happen. I couldn't tell if the torch man made it off the lift.

I would like to question whether this actually occurred in Australia, I don't see any safety vests, which are now required in most workplaces.

From one of the comments on YouTube:
Other comments also state that two were killed.

Come on hind site is 20/20 no one is going to think of everything. Ya are right about the forklift though. I kept thinking how in the heck does this dumbo cause a crane to fall by setting off a rack of Oxy bottles. I just knew those where going to blow up in his face.

That's what I thought when I saw the forklift. What he was doing is the equivalent of hitting a Patriot missile battery with a sledgehammer. Makes you wonder how these got the contract to demo, low bid?:cool2

I like this conception that people who are not union are retards or something. Ive yet to see one of these union guys who love to patronize people do it to my face, its so funny that its always them driving by in cars or something. I have nothing against unions and I am trying to become a union contractor myself, but I really look down on anyone who patronizes other people as I have had it done to myself on many occasions.

Certain places do not allow explosive demolition.
