Yes, my thought is to get a large bolt or some chunk of metal I can hammer on. Cut a groove in the other end and install a bent section of 1/4" or smaller steel brake line sharpened. Weld it into the groove so it becomes like a needle I can hammer into the filter and it will drain out the side. Even into a hose if necessary. Might be handy for some of the disasters above, if you could get a hammer in there.

Culd also weld up a special tip, fer a little slidehammer. Spike with hose attached. Once yer done drainin, slap it backwards to remove...

Not a bad analogy, maybe someone should contact a tool company with the idea of making a modified tree tap out of hardened steel that could be used for that purpose?

Wasn't there a guy non this forum who "invented" a digital voltage meter built into a test probe and go a tool company to actually put in in production?

LoL, yeah, every three months I get a little beer money check for that tool. Love it!
