Hey fellas I am in the market to buy a newer single axle dump truck. I have been looking into the freightliner m2-106 because I don't have my class one. I live in
Canada and the course to be able to haul over 10k on a trailer with an air brake rig, is 15k and 8 week course, and I'm too busy to take the course. I have my heavy trailer endorsement and air brake endorsement, but it leaves me having to purchase a truck with juice brakes, if i want to haul my Cat 259D with the cat 305. I currently own a 2003 gmc c5500 and its been a decent truck after i replaced the engine in it... but I need something that will be able to haul both machines decent. does anyone have any other suggestions on other medium duty trucks ? does anyone run a freightliner m2-106 with a 7 yard box hauling 26-28k lb.'s ? my trailer I have will hold both machines has a payload of 29k on the deck. The combined weight of the trailer with both machines on there, will have a net weight of 27,000lb. i am open to suggestions how do people feel about the M2 is it a pretty capable truck?
