There was a semi trailer manufacturer up here that was forced out of business because their engineers messed up and several of their largest trailers weren't up to the task they were supposedly designed for. Can't remember the name of the place but they had a big shop in Nisku. Just saw below and it's kind of scary.

Just thinking without seeing the trailer it might be easiest to cut it where it changes in front of the axles. Again one would have to see it in detail to decide what is less work.
