Arcata/Simpson's 044's. I find out that 044 nbr 60028, GMV1271, produced in 1975 seems to have been owned by Elko Inc in Kamiah, Idaho. Nbr 60029, CAT engine and also delivered in 1975 was owned by ARCO at some time.
May both these machines originally have been in Coos Bay or California, and the first one is the one sold to Idaho and the later is the one in Montana?
Log Big - hope you get the chance to check out this machine this summer, get some pictures and a serial nbr!
12009 was the old Gwin and Sons 120 from Vernonia. I think Murk came down to Oregon and helped train the crew on that one.
