Realize an old thread, new to HEF and unable to post my own thread, so thought would add some good info to this one on the first page in the Old Iron section for anyone interested in steam in the Northwest USA.

Relatives have been working it for at least ten years straight. Including one young man, John D, who is the youngest experienced steam engine operators around anywhere. His dad got him into it young. And think they even went to some kind of special schooling to pass tests to be steam certified, while not sure of the process. Send me a PM if anyone wants to talk to a couple steam operators into it and will put you in touch with them.
