you, cal, must be one small fella. i have enough problems with the front door, i look at the back window and think to myself i hope like hell i never need to use it as an exit...
ah - the mouse tag disguises the fact that i am 6'5" and about 300 pounds +/- 10 percent.
I think the ramps are too wide to sit under the machine.Would you be able to pick the bucket up and put the ramps under the skid steer then set the bucket on top of them to keep them from sliding out?
There are a lot of problems with this, the main one is strength, once you put a hinge into a ramp you lose a lot of load rating and the length may still be too great but once again this is something for a ramp manufacturer to think about.why dint u just modify your ramps. Maybe make the rams so they can fold in half then u can store them in the bucket. It would not be hard to make a hinge system on your ramps then u do not have to modify your truck at all.
50 odd kgs?????????Thanks for all the ideas. I have asked the ramp builder about hinging but they say that can only be done safely for lower load rating - up to 2.5t max. They say no way for 4.5t+ machine.
I looked in Hendriks idea of racking them but I am trying to limit the lifting side of things, not hard to put your back out lifting 50 odd kgs. There is also not enough room to have then laying flat, they would need to be racked on their sides. Will put more thought into this option though.
Photo of loader in truck. Shows how little room there is either side. Not enough room to slide ramps in as well.

Cheaper to buy them unless someone gives you t-6063 or 61 aluminum for free. Get the 5 ton ones. I have a set of 7k's and they are OK, but wished I bought the heavier ones.
