Are the extra casings on some of the piles to reduce downdrag from your surface fill?
Those are holsters. I use the whip to loft the piles and set them in the holster then grab the hammer and clamp on and swing to the pile location. The first picture is all piles sitting in holsters

Sorry about the extra pictures. A couple of bridges the 40 ton was helping out on. Had a 270 ton crane set the girders on the big bridge ,while the 40 ton did all the the other handling. Then moved up the hill to a small pre cast bridge some 25000 lb abutments and 18000 lb deck panels ,just right for the 40 ton.

Yes but the 40 ton is a bit limited for roading . Out there its all off highway. Actually going on the lowbed back to the shop fully rigged .

Maybe dream up a hydraulic thumb for that drag bucket (haha) or take some time out and hook up your clam. It looks like your having fun out there.

There was only one stump to take out and it's a long steep narrow walk back to the buckets

Don't lie, there's always just a little anxiety in that first trip over a new bridge, isn't it? :D

I once made the last trip over an old bridge, ended up with my steer axle just on the ground and the truck pointing up like it was ready for a moon shot. I've never looked at any small private bridge the same way since.

The Lima headed out the gate to do some work with the grapple.
A narrow spot on the way for 13'- 6" wide , pilot truck driver was very good at blocking the oncoming lemmings. Sorry for the blur.
Rigged and ready.
