Took my 50 gallon portable diesel tank to our bulk supplier and topped it off, it's a bit of a PITA to load and unload from my F250 even with the tractor. Long story short I'm buying an elevated 300 gallon tank from the same supplier which is about $1200 delivered complete with filter, hose, etc. Apparently everyone around here has the same idea, buy a bulk tank and fill it while prices are down. The supplier ran out of tanks and has another order in, should be about two weeks. I'm the third sale of the yet to be delivered tanks. Minimum fuel delivery is 150 gallons which is fine, I use about that much red diesel every 10 or 12 months. Delivered fuel price is about 20 cents higher than at the pump.
Since we're in a rural area, there isn't any competition that I'm aware of so this dealer basically can set prices without competitive pressure.
