Welcome War Eagle, Phil has not posted here for quite some time & his interest & knowlege of 580B's is surely missed.
The only 580B's I have worked on have a dry bellhousing & I am guessing someone has fitted a plug to your bellhousing to 'stop' the oil leak that yours has .....
Foaming oil is usually caused by contaminated or incorrect oil or pump cavitation (sucking air)

Shopguy, it is the hydraulic shuttle.....I'm thinking that the remaining oil may have been in the "converter" itself, lines etc. Do you think you may have a good picture of the accelerator & floor board (upper and lower??)?? Thanks for any help to all.
