Big Terex Loader

This big Terex was used to load rock trucks.

Weyco stuck around only long enough to manipulate the Provincial government into removing the private land from the tree farm licenses, then they sold off all the TFL's, and pulled out. They now log the private land as "Island Timberlands". They didn't stay long enough to re-paint any equipment, and the small contractors that took over can't afford paint. Red & white iron will be around for many years to come.

Swedish snapple-yarders

If you watch my videos of the 5675 log loader, operated by a fellow they called 'The Black Swede', he was actually from Norway, too.

So I'll then conclude that 2/3 of them running loaders in the BC coast are norwegians and the rest 1/3 are danes! By the way, maybe the swedes then are on the snapple-yarders:tong lol

That could be! I've never met a snapple yarder operator, so I couldn't tell you.

H316-H321 were Franklin River Division trucks There was never a H16 at Franklin Hope this helps Trakloader is right There was and always will be hard feelings about Weyco's hostile take over of M&B and shutting them down. I think it would be fair to say, W%*@#haeuser is probably the most despised name in BC logging history. They pretty much gave the whole province the shaft. I notice that most old M&B iron kept the old colours and logo, but you rarely see Weyco decals anywhere. No time was wasted ripping them off! Weyco really tried to eradicate the M&B name altogether, even to the point of cutting the MB name off of signs in the middle of nowhere.

Lowbed with Loader

This was an ancient lowbed, it arrived in Juskatla with Grandpa's Lima dragline in 1949 and it wasn't new then. It had a bogey from a chain drive KW under the rear gooseneck, and would often track off on its own on corners. It could only be side loaded, too, which really limited its capabilities. Still, it served for many years, I think it was the late 80's or early 90's when they finally sold it.

New QCD Lowbed, early 70's

This Smith took the place of the previous bed. I think this is the one sitting in the boneyard today, the gooseneck got badly twisted side loading the 144.

This Smith 150t. folding gooseneck lowbed replaced the bed in the previous post. It's still in use today.

Glad you liked that! I'm going to link some more of my videos on here tonight. I have tons of material from the archives, WFP just threw everything away! I saved a lot of it, but I know I missed a lot of good stuff. I did get a couple of Hayes trailer manuals, and a Pacific operator's manual.
