Komatsu PC200-7 Hydraulic Problem

On my PC 200, the operator says at times the arm won’t lower unless he first lifts the arm a little first. Then today the engine switched off while working. When trying to start the engine it cranks very slowly (like when the batteries are low) and we noticed while cranking the engine, the arm is actually lifting. Batteries are good. Why would the arm lift when cranking to start? It also won’t start as it’s turn over to slow to start.
Any advise on where to start checking for the problem will be appreciated.

Sounds like the arm cylinder is damaged and broken metal is getting stuck in the valve spool. Pull the return filters first looking for metal and cylinder packing. If you find material in there, the cylinder would be next and after that the control spool for the arm would need to come out plus the compensator valve as well.

Sounds like it may be the main valve sticking ( the one the pilot controls control).
