Turbo let go and we found oil coming from inside the air to air. So it got a new air to air.

GoldriverHD Thanks for posting those pictures of the HDX She is looking a little tough at the moment but im sure she will get tiddled up again. She still has the ProMac rear hubs on her!!! I liked those a lot. Was that truck originally one of Butch Carroll's trucks ??? Just looks like one of his from long ago! Nice to see a shop again Kind of makes a guy homesick for what use to be LOL

This is a set forward HDX model. I'm pretty sure she was a preloader when she left factory. sn# 4218; spec: Detroit 12V71, 91000 rears 15 ft bunks. This truck may be parked on QCI. Maybe Trakloader can acknowledge.. :)

S/N 4218 HDX 45-95 12V71 with 70,000 Clark rear ends Delivered to AH Longland May 27/71 in Courtenay BC She was spec'd out the same as all the Crown Z trucks at that operation She WAS a preload truck Hayesno1. Does not say anything about a trailer so probably she was used along side the Crown trucks and pulled their 60 Ton preload trailers. Last time I saw it in the preload configuration was up at his shop in the 80's. I will try and find the pics of it at that time You can see the rear deck dog and saddles have been cut off the back of the water tank and patched over. Its a shame to see these old girls like this now. There is not a lot of the preload trucks left now when you think just how many were built.

HDX; thanks for information. Yes it's sad to think about that so few preloads have survived. Quite a few have been rebuilt to standard logging truck configuration. Why is that? Are maintenance costs higher than on a standard logging truck? Does anyone know if there are any of CZ HDX preload trucks still going strong as preload logging trucks?

Hayesno1 You are right again One of a 5 truck order by Canadian Cellulose. trucks were delivered with 60 ton trailers Only 2 WHDX's built for spain July/75 and 6 HDX's after that order. Tahsis got one and Dougan got one Canadian Bechel got two and M&B got the last two.

The one Tahsis got went to Zeballos . Hauled for one month then had a run away and crushed the cab. The driver jumped out and broke his hip. The truck came back rebuilt and is now in Gold River I think.

075 thanks for the info At least she is still around. The two Canadian Bechel got both came with 121 rear diffs and Cummins KT engines They also took delivery of a WHD at the same time and it also came with 121 rears and a Cummins 400 engine Now that would have been a truck to see up close, A flex frame with 121's

I believe on page 78 truck 2213 is the HDX that came from Zeballos.

#2213 is old M&B unit #H166 from Cameron Div. See posts #472 and #477 at this thread. I know there is another Hayes HDX at Zeballos. I can't remember WFP unit number, but she got a high raised Pacific cab. I'll find a pic of her. This might be the one Tahsis got new?

This might be the truck that went to Tahsis in 1974/75? These pics were taken in Port McNeill. WFP #2167. I got some pics of her when she was in Zeballos.
