Greatwestcam The plans for the 90th Anniversary of Hayes is set for the July 1st weekend 2012 at the Fall Fair Grounds here in Port Alberni It will be for ALL trucks NOT just Hayes We are trying to get ANY Hayes --running or not to attend as well as all other trucks There is no admittance fees There is a place for overnite camping on site as well There is plans to bring in some of the Pacific P16s as well as some HDXs One of the things being thrown around right now is the thoughts on bringing in a couple of highway loggers with loads and take the loads off them and reload it onto an off-highway unit to show people what its like. Things are moving right along but we are open to any suggestions that anybody would like to see or ideas you think would work We are going to invite all the Truck Dealers so they can show off their units Will keep you all updated as things progress

HDX; Great news! Looking forward to attend the 90th Anniversary of Hayes. Here a few pics - sorry poor quality - of 2 different Hayes Clipper 200 chip trucks. I don't know company but trucks were blue and white. They were running full trailers. Pics were taken on Vancouver Island back in the early 80's

Good pics Hayesno1 That was one of Howie Davis's Clippers They were based out of Ladysmith He bought the Hayes Clipper 200 that was Ranger Transports truck over on the mainland also. After he bought her from Ranger he took her down and had her painted in his colors (Blue/White) and one of his drivers drove it to the ATHS Convention in Spokane Washington back in 1995 Unfortunately when the market went bad she was snapped up by a guy and he had her painted Yellow /White/Green After a long time just sitting Howie ended up buying her back again and that is the last anybody saw of her We will try and see if she can make it to the Anniversary Show in July She was at the 75th here in Port Alberni so it would only be fair that she makes the 90th

Great - you shoulda done that in Victoria or Vancouver! Wish I have the chance to go to Port Alberni next summer!

HDX's show sounds very impressive - sadly I can't make it either. If you can't make that show I am hosting one in Cache Creek during the final weekend of July 2012 - there should be a lot of Hayes trucks there with the odd Pacific and some new stuff that hasn't been seen on the show circuit. As 2012 marks the 90th anniversary for Hayes Mfg. I am hoping to get a lot of Hayes representation out - this year my show will be a 'sister' show to HDX's in Port Alberni for those who can't make it to the island.

HDX; Thanks for some great information as usual. Though I am a bit confused. My 3 pics are actually of 2 different Hayes Clipper 200 models - look closely at bumpers. As I recall Howies Clipper that went down to the ATHS Convention in Spokane Washington in 1995 was a Hayes Clipper 100 from 1964 but my memory is not that good anymore..LOL Anyway for sure I hope to see her next year in Port Alberni.

Hayesno1 Yes you are right Howie had several Clippers over the years and I think that a couple were parted out He loved his Hayes and yes the Clipper that he restored WAS a 100 Same as Vic Rowlinsons Only it had the GM 871 I think that about the time you took these pics a friend of ours Bliane Hennig was driving for him and if not actually driving one of the Clippers it would have been the kenworth thanks for keeping things acurate

Not much left of this HD only cab frame and dashboard. Plate says it's a HD 18-60 model from 1955. sn#5091627
