I wouldn't doubt the drivers would leave the whole truck and trailer and hop into a fully charged truck as well.

I'm full on electric motors and power, I have a dream to pull my engine and drive train out of my rig and install a 3-350 HP Genset with a 6-8L engine and run a 200 HP electric motor with a freq drive. Would cost me probably 40k but 200 HP at zero rpm would give me tons of pulling power over a diesel at idle.
An over the road locomotive!

So a good buy would be a old D Pull or 111A Wabco with blown transmission, 471 Detroit and set it up as a charging station.
Mr Le Tourneau you truly were a genius.

I see Nissan is abandoning their EV dreams and will now build XTeras and pickups at the Canton Mississippi plant.
Still building globally, just not in the U.S., instead shifting to hybrids. Most all are doing the
same including U.S automakers. But EV sales are still tracking elsewhere. Car sales of all
types are lacking, many just can't afford a new vehicle.

I've heard of a new company making a city car type ev, it's a size of S10 pickup for 25k and can go a couple hundred miles. Should be pretty nice for a new vehicle and then rent a car if you take a trip

We have the technology for city car EVS right now and hybrids for a long distance heavy duty use. These are way better options for every application except for complexity then we have now. Barriers like stigma and insurance will fall eventually. Currently we are out of plateau for battery technology, when there is a fundamental change in battery technology hybrids will go away and we will have EVS for long distance and heavy duty use.

Electric bikes are becoming a problem. A lot of e-bike riders have no respect for the rules of the road. The other day I was approaching a busy four way stop intersection when an e-bike rider passed me on the right going as fast as that bike would go flew through the intersection without stopping. No helmet or protective gear at all.
I see them riding on the sidewalks at high speed all the time.
In Canada electric bikes have to be governed at 32 kilometres per hour. I suspect that is easy to defeat.

It's the same here and everywhere with EV, but most bicyclist don't/haven't followed rules for years.
Now the in thing is not paying license tabs in this state.
