Hello everyone

I need to locate a good spot to pull 12v power for a fm radio.
It needs to turn off with the ignition.

Where would i find that?

I would think it ought to have a 24v/12v converter somewhere.

Check behind the cab linings. There should be one hardwired into the machine harness next to the Implement ECM and a 2nd one with a plug & play accessory connector CONN 45 mounted next to the Powertrain ECM.

If the 2nd converter is not on your machine a Cat 340-7161 is plug & play to that 6-pin connector on the machine harness. Both wires marked in Blue on CONN 45 are switched from the ignition key.

Behind the panels on the LH side of the cab, directly next to the operator seat. Access will be a pain........



A close-up view. You are looking for #16. It should be right next to the Powertrain ECM #10.

I get the impression that 2nd covnerter could be an attachment (optional) but either way the wiring harness will have all the necessary plugs to make it a 5-minute job to plug it in. A good thing when it's probably going to take you half a day to get to it..........
