Cat 345C ECM & pump issues

6329 hrs@ startup, "ENGINE ECM ERROR" in red on screen.
Active errors
36:268-2 programmed parameter fault.
105:590-12 ECM fault.
No Events.
Machine ran normal.
Dealer reflashed ECM.
Machine now normal, and display normal.

6mos later,
6363 hrs@ startup, "ECM FAULT" in red onscreen.
Active errors
36:268-2
105:590-12
Now has logged Event

105:E00179
The first and last occurrences are way outside the current or past meter reading.

AND, now any function that uses pump #1 chatters and shakes whole machine.
Pressure jumps all over the place only on pump #1.
Pump #2 responds normal.

Obviously, the ECM has forgotten its values again, but, what would screw with pump #1 operation?

Machine did sit unused for 4 years, with only an occasional startup.

Disregard.

ECM needs replaced.
Main pump #1 shed most of it's brass.

I had a few medium HEXs with ECM problems several years ago. Like yours they would lose software settings or sometimes engine ECMs would lose FLS and FTS values. The only solution appeared to be ECM replacement.

You might get some deep sympathy, an estimate for half the real cost and a handkerchief to cry in.

What does the oil analysis history show? If you can demonstrate elevated wear levels whilst the service letter was still current, you may have a chance.
