View attachment 167175 View attachment 167176 View attachment 167177 View attachment 167178 Jim Backland BCFP . Thanks for your thoughts 6-110 , are these pictures related to Percy's camp in Knights Inlet .
That is what we called "the million dollar bridge" over the Klinaklini River. It was constructed using laminated beams and was said to cost BCFP one million dollars in the 1960's. Instead of 100 ton loads I believe it will only handle highway truck sized loads now.

Looks like the wrapper is still on the last picture of logs sliding down into the water. Was that normal to leave the wrapper on, and how did they get it off out in the water? Sure enjoying the old pictures, a lot! Thanks for posting them for us to look at and enjoy.

The load of logs have been dumped on a Dry Land Sorting area . The logs would have been spread out in a long row , then been "Scaled" for volume , then graded , then sorted (species , saw logs , peelers , pulp ) placed in bunks above the skid logs , wrapped with a light wire (wrapper) then sent down the skid logs into the water to be placed into booms of the same "Sort" . When the Booms of logs arrive at the designated Mill , the bundle's are lifted out of the water and bundle wires removed .

I'm not sure where that Camp is , but it would be a long term . The first two pictures would be an aerial view of the Bunk Houses and Cook House & Office , the 3rd & 4th pictures of single wide trailers would be the Married Quarters .
