I've never driven one of those Euclids or Terex's , but they were known to have terrible brakes on the trucks . Pacific Logging at Sooke had a Terex . A fellow by the name of Steve Snider drove it , it had a V12 Detroit with a built in retarted , the trailer braked were essential for braking on hills . One morning Steve got loaded up a steep branch road off the M/L . When he realized he had a problem with the trailer brakes . He got the truck stopped and arranged for a "Cat" to snub him down off the hill . After checking the trailer over , it was found to have grease on the brake lining . The truck had been serviced the night before by a new guy in the service shop and the trailer brakes had been liberally over greased . Larry Jay asked Steve On the 2 way radio what was going to happen when he got to the beach . Steve's reply " That grease monkey better be wearing running shoes "
I wish I had taken some pictures of Horseman's yard , when he worked out of Duncan . He bought Kenworth's all the same Cab model and style . After about five years some of the first trucks that started out looking pretty good were being parted out behind the shop . Man those guy's were hard on trucks . One truck was parked along the security fence with the wheels and tires off one back axle with a big boulder holding it off the ground !

Here is a nice 79 A model that anyone who has spent any time around Grays Harbor will recognize. He also built that Kenworth pickup, he just finished it after 6 years, it is immaculate.View attachment 260074 View attachment 260075View attachment 260078
