They had a bunch of yarders working here, and as part of the moving yarder process, a line truck is required to spool and haul guyline extensions, skyline extensions, etc. There were several line trucks around. This Kenworth was sold at the 'Camp Grisdale' auction in Shelton Wa. in 1985, and still has the Simpson stickers and numbers on it. The hoist on the KW is a Berger. The International was cool as well- that hoist is a Washington Iron Works.

Brings a tear to my eye seeing all that iron just rotting away out there in the bush. especially all that really sweet iron from Seattle's finest. not to even mention the sweet Pacific's just left to die in silence. Makes me want to start building a rescue barge.

Northwest shovel with elevated cab for loading logs. Young heel boom off machine is sitting in the bushes nearby, lattice boom has been installed later for construction work. Mike, the owner, says it ran good when he parked it there...........been awhile however.

International Harvester 560 Payloaders were popular up here. Lots of them around in the weeds gathering moss. There are 4 machines here near Ketchikan in an old yard.

Log skidders, both rubber-tire and FMC models rusting away in an old camp yard. Not sure what the rubber-tired machine is, Garrett or Franklin maybe. The FMC is an old model 210CA. I've seen a bunch of these here in Southeast Alaska rusting in various old abandoned locations.

Also at Herring Cove, an old boned-out Komatsu PC300 log loader sits rusting on an off-road lowbed trailer rusting away. The tracks are missing, and the boom is laying in pieces nearby. The logging boom front was built by Pierce of Portland Oregon, and the cab is on a scissor-style riser which rises strait up and down. Here it is seen in the down position. I doubt it will ever leave here.

Near Herring Cove, on Revillagigedo Island, Southeastern Alaska.

In an old rock pit near Ward Cove, the American has dug all the way around itself and sits trapped on a high ledge. Lots of old machinery below it as well. The Bantam C-475 is a rare find for sure.

Log Trucks left for dead at the old Wrangell Sawmill. There used to be over 100 of these log trucks parked here. Now its more like 25, mostly carcasses.
