580 se cold power Shuttle/TC Fluid Check

Hey Does anyone know if it is possible to check the power shuttle and torque converter fluid while cold? I started a thread a while back about this machine going slow on a hill. The solution was to add some hydTran ultra as it was low and I think it is a bit low again but being that this machine is only used around the property occasionally, the fluid almost never gets up to temperature.
