  • I just want to thank you for your input. I will remove the top of the transmission and see what is wrong. I guess my biggest problem at the moment is getting the floor plate off. All of the bolts are rusted and basically stripped so that a wrench will not fit on them properly. I guess I'll need to grind the heads off and replace them.

    Sometimes a wrench that is a little bigger than the bolt size will work to get these off. Let us know what you find...

    PS: Sometimes the open end of a wrench (doesn't necessarily have to be the size of the bolt) can work to get stripped bolts out. It has worked for me in the past, anyway.
