    Dresser 510B trans fluid leak

Well the drainhose idea helped some but it still leaks. So I will be pulling the engine and resealing the bellhousing. I'll get some pictures up of the problem area and the fix

    Dresser 510B trans fluid leak

Have discovered that this is in fact a wet bellhousing machine. Seems the bellhousing has a leak where its supposed to seal to the block. Gonna try a little homemade fix, gonna run a drain hose from the drain plug on the housing to the drain on the bottom of the trans and see how it works out...

    Dresser 510B trans fluid leak

What I need to know is if these are a wet bellhousing or dry. The charge pump bolts to the converter housing which looks to be a wet area, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to be sealed from the bellhousing on the engine or if I have a bad seal on the bellhousing. It's leaking from right in...

    Dresser 510B trans fluid leak

Bolted direct to the engine. Found a reasonable price on a downloadable manual, the converter charge pump is external, little gear pump that if the seal blew would be forcing oil into the converter housing. Going to pop that out and see how it looks first. Transmission is definitely not over...

    Dresser 510B trans fluid leak

Recently picked up an early 510B loader. From what I can tell someone blew a rod thru the block on the original engine and repowered with a 4bt Cummins like the later machines. Runs great, all hydros work fine, but suddenly it's started pissing trans oil out of the drain on the bellhousing. Gets...

    International 3200A engine removal

My love for facebook marketplace has landed me yet another gem for a deal I couldn't refuse. An old international 3200A with the backhoe attachment, all complete. Problem is the Wisconsin VH4D jammed in the rear of it needs a major overhaul and needs to be pulled. However IH seems to have built...

looking at a 1992 ford 555 with bad motor

7k is steep for an early machine that has a bad bottom end. I agree on it being worth about 3k, especially since those ford's are a hassle to work on. You'll be splitting that machine in the process of pulling the motor out of it, and if it ever needs tranny work you have to split it again...

    580E repairs and homemade hacks

Got the biggest hole patched, it's not perfect but it's a 40 year old machine it's good enough haha. Used it to move a few things this weekend, it sure as hell beats my old CK

    580E repairs and homemade hacks

Working on patching the fender today so I can out the floor in for the last time. While the paint dries I snapped a few pics of the rear windows, both were gone when I got the machine. The tracks were gone as well, and I couldn't locate any replacements. I did some searching and plastic bypass...

    580E repairs and homemade hacks

Here's some pics of the thing for this thread, forgot I never uploaded any, as well as what the floor started as, will post finals up once I get it together, hopefully this weekend. Gotta tighten up the tension rods for the hoe today so I can put the floor in for the last time, unfortunately my...

    580E repairs and homemade hacks

Just a temporary setup as I needed to move something that day. Very sketchy, hit the brakes too hard while backing up and damn near slid right out the rear window haha. Aside from that, the left side hazard and brake light assembly had been smashed off this machine long ago. I got bored while...

    John Deere 710D Hydraulic Troubleshooting

Afraid I'm not sure, I don't think I'd wanna contaminate the system with diesel. May want to find a way to circulate oil through the cooler with some type of pump to try and flush the trash out, or maybe pull the cooler and clean it Inna parts washer or something of the sort

    580E repairs and homemade hacks

Got a new floor pan done up, looks a bit funky but I didn't have a 3" hole saw and didn't really wanna go out and buy one so I torched the holes as good as I could. Also made a new "bushing" for the throttle shaft and a new end for it as the old one had rotted and pitted badly. Some small angle...

    580E repairs and homemade hacks

I have not, never heard of him actually, I'll give that a try next time I need something. So far I've been able to make just about everything

    580E repairs and homemade hacks

My heater had also quit working, a combination of a corroded switch, rat chewed wiring, and a blower motor that had lost it's bearing. I couldn't find a replacement assembly anywhere for an E series machine. However, I found a chinese looking blower motor assembly that looked the same and had...

    580E repairs and homemade hacks

For starters, the door didn't close. Come to find out the striker was gone and only about half of the door latch assembly was still there. So I made my own with some random pieces of steel and a sacrificial socket and 3/8" extension

    580E repairs and homemade hacks

Picked up a machine a little while back, wasn't in the best of shake but mechanically it's sound enough. However, I just can't accept good enough. So I've been working my way through this machine as cheaply as I possibly can, and thought I'd share some of this with you all in case anyone can...

    John Deere 710D Hydraulic Troubleshooting

Definitely sounds like a blown pump, good thing it didn't shear the end of your crankshaft. Pull the pump and inspect as suggested, and drain all hydraulic oil and pull filters. Most likely needs a new pump by the sound of it

case 580E loader back hoe pricing

Depends on the shape of the rest of the machine. Up my way in CT that would probably be up for around 8-10k. I just bought a 580E for 7200 but it's needs cab work and rear tires, I suspect the shuttle is on its way out. Lots of small stuff, but up here these machines seem to be worth their...

    case 580G alternator

You try taking it to napa or an industrial/construction parts place? They may be able to help if their employees are halfway competent
