Why the Chinese manufacturers will never be on top.

While I was at the Komatsu display at Conexpo I saw a couple Chinese taking pictures of a new Komatsu excavator only they had the camera deep in the bowels of the pump area. I asked a Komatsu rep what was up and he said it was Chinese engineers looking to reverse engineer the equipment and said...

hitachi exe200 lc-s hydraulic problem stallin out engine

Had the same problem on our 200-3 a few years ago. Business structure - Rental Co. and Construction Co.

Another advantage of an in-house rental co is change orders. Typically the owner or GC wants equipment, if company owned billed at "Blue book" rates which are down in the toilet or if rented provide actual invoice from the rental company. I don’t know about you guys but I pay a lot less for my...

Cranes and Shovels-- converted to load logs

I was lucky enough in 1987 to do a ride along with my Father inlaw in his log truck out of Enumclaw Wa. Excavator rollover

There is a slight pause in sound from the machine rolling before the final crash and the operators last gasp. I imagine that pause is the machine going over the edge. Its hard to watch and listen to this.

    200 on a tag

To get a bigger excavator means having to invest at a minimum $60-$100k in a used tractor and lowboy that wont work often. For the selective demo we do I dont need the brute force of a 330 or larger machine. Having the 45' vertical feet of reach with a rotating grapple on something I can mobe...
