    555e Hub Seal

One side of mine was leaking bad. I thought it was due to the bushing being worn so I bought the bushing o rings and seals. Once I got it apart, I couldn't find any failures of the parts. Turns out the vent was plugged forcing the oil out when it warmed up and pressurized. Cleaned vent. Problem...

    NH 555E grill makover.

LOL! I just bent some .25 x 1 flat bar to fit, then cut the horizontal pieces out of the same and put the flat expanded metal on back. It's a little too heavy though.

    NH 555E grill makover.

The original grill on my 555E was in perfect shape but it was pretty lame so I made a new one. I was always afraid of something going through it. I bet that would be expensive! This wasn't too hard to make and it adds a little protection. I wish I could come up with something for the side covers.

    NH Lb75.b Sticky Throttle

This may be what's going on with mine. I'm going to see if I can clean it up without taking it all apart. Thanks everyone.

    Battery booster

Oh yes. I think you suggested this on another post about starter problems. I was having a situation where the starter would just click sometimes and I did this test on the positive side and no problem found. The p.o. had two negative cables on it so I thought it was unlikely that side. I...

    Battery booster

The cables look good at all the connections. There is no corrosion, is there a way to check them without stripping the insulation back?

    Battery booster

My ford/newholland 555e will not start if the temperature is or has been below 50 degrees. If we are not by a charger/booster we are SOL. I bought one of those booster gadjets from the jungle store and thought I would share my experience. If you're stuck out in the field and need extra power to...

    Help Needed Purchasing Case 580C

I had a case 450 track loader for 18 years. It had a 207 D engine. It is a great engine that is easy to rebuild. Mine had an electrolysis pin hole in a cylinder after many years of service so I had to rebuild it. I got the whole kit from one of the ag suppliers and it wasn't too expensive. It's...

Stuck in mud best ways to get out

The first experience I had with a backhoe was also a two wheel drive. By the end of the day I was stuck far worse than that. We tried to help pull with a utility tractor but it would not budge. I also walked away and overnight it dried out enough that it walked right out of the hole the next...

    Ford 655C Swing Cylinder Bushing

You're swinging a massive amount of weight around. A loctite type product is not likely to hold it. Check with a machine shop and see what it would cost to fix it.

    Ford 655C Swing Cylinder Bushing

There are people hear who are a lot more qualified than I am. I was classically trained as a mechanic forty years ago but changed crafts thirty years ago. I took the swing cylinders out of my 555E recently and had them re-packed. I am certain the bushings were pressed in because they were...

    Ford 655C Swing Cylinder Bushing

Looks like it is to be pressed in.

To gap or not to gap new rings pre-installed on new pistons?

At some point in my life when I was a mechanic we were taught how to use a snap gauge. It was called the cock lock and rock method. Put the snap gauge in the bore, cock it to one side, lock the gauge and rock it to the other side. Remove it and mic it. Maybe you already know this but I just...

    Ford/New Holland 555E question...Gear Shifter

I searched for cv boot vendors and ordered one by the dimension for the upper and lower hole. Larger hole most critical. The clamps compress great and it will not wear out in my lifetime. I knew I would need the part and vendor info to share but I don't know if I have the receipt. I'll look. I...

    Ford/New Holland 555E question...Gear Shifter

I have the 555e as well. I was shocked at the price for an oem boot and was not going to be abused like that so I found a constant velocity boot that worked fantastic. The clamps came with it and it is far and away superior to what was on it.

    New Holland 675 E Electrical/charging issue

My 555e does the exact same thing. I figured it was something to do with an excitor or something. Since it charges as soon as I back it out of the tractor port it doesn't bother me so I leave it alone.
