I want to thank you for your help on this repair. I bought the test manual and the tech manuals on thumb drive and found my problem. The engine speed actuator solenoid did not ohm out correctly.

Thanks for everything you have done. We used the bypass function on the hydraulic block where the 2 solenoids are and it ran perfectly but at a fast pace. Now what function we had on the panel has been lost. It no longer is able to change modes and just is at a low idle. We would like to test...

It runs smoothly at higher rpm if you work throttle by hand. That is why I think it may be in electronic fuel controller. I don’t know how to test or adjust it.

I checked the filter and changed it and worked the throttle by hand and it ran smoothly. Linkage is all in place as it should be but it still hunts.

    TAKEUCHI TL130 FRONT IDLER MOVEMENT

I have a Takeuchi TB135 mini- ex and the angle iron track that the tensioner slides in had broken welds and had a lot of slop in the side to side travel. Not sure how yours is set up but it is worth checking as the idler probably slides in the same track as tensioner.

    Axles for Cat 287B

Nige I bought my 287b recently knowing that the undercarriage was in need of replacement. I have been reading that the design is a maintenance nightmare and that the oil filled axles have a history of the seals leaking. I have also read that the design was changed to a grease filled axle. My...

    Axles for Cat 287B

SAE 250 is what was used in classic vehicles way back for rear ends. I also have read that some people had converted the gear oil filled axles to grease filled. I was just wondering if SAE 250 would lube good and not tend to leak past seals. One thing for sure is I don’t want to make matters...

    Axles for Cat 287B

Thanks so much for the information on the wheels. My idler axles still had oil in them and the bearings & seals seem to be good. I was thinking about changing up to 250wt.gear oil instead of 90 wt.

    Axles for Cat 287B

Are you running the aluminum wheels? Are you familiar with the DuroForce wheels? I have been reading all I can but it seems the MTL undercarriage leaves a lot to be desired. I bought my 287b knowing it needed a new undercarriage so the price was a lot lower.

    Cat 287b axles

I have a Cat 287b that needs bogie wheels and axles replaced. I really need advice on which brand axle assemblies are best and what configuration to use. Single bearing, double bearing, or Bair axles. How about bogie wheels? Are aluminum better? DuroForce? I am in Florida so it is either sand or...

    Axles for Cat 287B

I need to replace axles and bogie wheels on 287B and was wondering which ones give better service life? I see single bearing, double bearing And Bair axle assemblies. The ones that were on it was double bearing greasable but they were in terrible condition. Maybe someone with experience in this...

    Compression gauge

I tested compression and it was very good and all cylinder pressures were close together. I put in new injectors and still had a stumble above half throttle so I advanced the timing on the injection pump a little and it ran good. My question is does the pump supposed to advance as the rpm’s rise...
