New Holland 555E Backhoe Boom Lock Slack

Yep, it works! Thanks for the advice. It took about 85% of the bounce out, I suspect the tiny bit I feel every once in a while is probably pin wear on the boom sections. Was much more comfortable moving the dirt now. Thanks Guys.

New Holland 555E Backhoe Boom Lock Slack

Thanks for the response, I was just fixing to get back at it when I got your response. I will give that a try in just a few minutes. Thanks again JB.

New Holland 555E Backhoe Boom Lock Slack

I am wondering how much clearance that the Boom Lock should have between the hooks and the pin they lock on. I have started a new project that requires moving loader buckets full of clay across my land a pretty good distance to a washed out drive to build it back up. There is about a half inch...

WAX Motor on New Holland 555E

Thanks for the response. Well the fuel shutoff is working so that means the fuse is good. I found a diagram on page 3-179 that appears the heat switch is indeed at the thermostat. I wouldn't have come across that diagram if you hadn't sent the one above. Schematic's and wiring diagrams are...

WAX Motor on New Holland 555E

Could anyone tell me what activates the wire attached to the WAX Motor on the DP203 fuel injector pump? I was told that the WAX motor on the fuel injection pump is basically a timing advance to adjust for more fuel in response to throttle increase. My backhoe does not respond well to throttle...

Remove and Replace 555E Fuel Injector Pump

Yes, it was a good decision to use him! Couldn't have expected a better re builder or person. He is a really good person to have put up with all my questions and to help me the way he did. I would tell anyone needing a pump rebuild to get with him.

Remove and Replace 555E Fuel Injector Pump

Well got the injection pump put back on and the old gal is running again. Was time consuming to tear down and then put back together but other than learning how to prime the fuel system after reinstall of the pump it wasn't really all that bad. About 8 hours to pull everything down including...

Remove and Replace 555E Fuel Injector Pump

Thanks Tinkerer, I will be sure to do that. Hopefully will be sending it to him first part of next week if everything goes well.

Remove and Replace 555E Fuel Injector Pump

Not yet, didn't want to start pulling stuff apart till I kind of knew the needs on timing and such. Would you be willing to rebuild or seal it if I sent it to you? Probably be a couple days, going to back it back out of the shop and pressure wash it a little better. Am in hopes that I can get to...

Remove and Replace 555E Fuel Injector Pump

Well I am guessing this thing is a DP203 from the service guide. I am not really sure what exactly is in need of repair, just know that the weep hole is leaking pretty bad. Not a stream but a very rapid drip. I am not familiar with anyone here in Oklahoma. I moved to Oklahoma 3 years ago and...

Remove and Replace 555E Fuel Injector Pump

Well as promised, I am asking for knowledge again Guys. I found the weep hole in the fuel injection pump is leaking pretty bad now. So I know I need to remove it to have it repaired. My question is. Number 1, can I just remove the injector pump and then replace it exactly as it was when removed...

555E Backhoe Bucket Gland Nut Revision?

Well, Guys. I finally decided to dig up some stumps and everything went well till I started smelling diesel. The hydraulics are great but now its time for me to beg for knowledge again in a new thread. 1 1/2 hours work and down again! Hope to see you guys on the new thread. :)

555E Backhoe Bucket Gland Nut Revision?

Well Guys, good news finally! They never did get the grease seals, I tried a couple different bearing and seal places and they couldn't help me. I finally contacted Messicks. They were pricey and 4 of the seals they sent didn't fit. But they had all the others right. The seals for the frame that...

555E Backhoe Bucket Gland Nut Revision?

Sorry I haven't responded earlier, didn't realize there have been new posts. Joe, if the old seals were anywhere near intact I could do that. Unfortunately, the seals have been there so long that all the rubber on every seal just fell apart during the removal of the cylinders. The metal case of...

555E Backhoe Bucket Gland Nut Revision?

Thanks for leading me in the right direction Swetz! I figured out how to get the specs.

555E Backhoe Bucket Gland Nut Revision?

Swetz, Now that is very interesting. The guy I am dealing with told me the only way to get those grease seals was to buy the complete seal kit for 400 plus. But your right I need 6 of the 83931289 as well as the same type seals for the other 2 cylinders. I need 4 of the 85801025 and 4 of the...

555E Backhoe Bucket Gland Nut Revision?

Don't get me wrong, I am very pleased with the capabilities of my backhoe, it is so strong but, I agree with you totally. If I was running a business I would have no use for a New Holland. The company doing my rebuild is actually a New Holland Dealer and they are having problems getting the...

555E Backhoe Bucket Gland Nut Revision?

Just an update guys. I still haven't gotten this maintenance done. The company I took the cylinders to has 2 of them done and said they will likely have the last one done next week. They say they have had problems getting the correct seals for the rebuilds. Now I am going to have to get...

555E Backhoe Bucket Gland Nut Revision?

Swetz, Will do. I will give it a couple months give an update after I dig up about a dozen big stumps and then I plan to do it again next summer after I have deepened and enlarged that old silted in stock pond. Cosmaar1, yes Sir that is what I am doing this morning. I am taking the Bucket and...

555E Backhoe Bucket Gland Nut Revision?

Tinkerer and Swetz. Thanks so much for your responses. I think I actually have no idea if my gland is updated or original. I know that it looks like the one on the left with the red arrow Swetz. The boom and dipper gland nuts look like the one on the right that has factory paint. But, while...
